I'm not. As long as we have our garbage staff intact everyone will continue to underperform.

Fanene is injury prone, and truly wasn't that effective during the time Odom as out. Sacks tell a small amount of the story, and our pass rush was worse with him in there. He'll fight to make the team, and will be back to his reserve role if he does

I think Fanene still needs to be re-signed as he's a free agent.

I think they will re-sign him to a 2 or 3-year contract and it will be a good deal for the Bengals because he didn't hardly play last year because of injuries. That being said, I think he's a solid player and will bounce back next year and contribute quite a bit. I think Odom will be cut to save money and our DE's will be Dunlap, Geathers, M. Johnson, Fanene, and Rucker.

Fanene is a borderline starter who flashes sometimes in games. Like Brandon Johnson.

Fanene and Rucker both have spent more time in the training room than on the field. They've been in more tubs of ice than a truckload of Cokes at a 4th of July picnic. As Lap is fond of saying: 'You can't make the club in the tub."

Next time they miss time due to injuries should be the last time. Both these guys have shown promise at times...but both have cashed more checks than they have made tackles.

This is sickening.

Other than being injury PRONE...

He has 1 more sack than he does years of service. 7 mother flipping sacks in 6 years.

PLEASE GUYS MOVE ON...

No matter how bad you want to say Geathers is, at least he can suit up and play the game on a consistant basis.

Marvin singing praises about Fanene has truely brain washed many folks around here

He is almost as overrated as PEKO! Almost!

Fanane is what he is....a solid BACKUP

Are you really mad at a back who sees LIMITED time for not producing.....Its funny cause the one year we had to start him he had 6 sacks...He SHOULD be brought back as a backup

This should be a Geathers thread before a Fanane thread

I'm not so sure he makes the team this year.
Too injury prone and well we got some younger guys that need a chance to show what they got.

Its funny you think a career backup who is consistently injured and almost 30 is worth a roster spot. Are you not sick or hearing every year the same people going on IR? I know I am, and Fanene is one of the culprits. And who exactly has he been a career backup too? Ask yourself that question. Because we havent exactly had a string of pro bowl DEs coming through here that would be hard to outperform.

How about we give somebody else a chance to develop and move on. Mark Anderson had 22 sacks in his first 4 years with the Bears. Guess what?? They cut him because they thought he was underperforming.

There is a draft and free agency in the NFL that allows you to upgrade your roster. We could use one ofr both of those to get an upgrade instead of hanging onto the same old players who had most of the fans hollering this year about our horrible pass rush.

Im mad because in his LIMITED TIME he manages to get hurt VERY OFTEN.

I actually though Fanane would have a big year last season, but again it wasn't the case.It is obvious he is injury prone, and wont stay healthy.

Where are you looking for him to produce at? If the roster stayed as it is now then hands down the starting D-Line should be MJ, Atkins, Peko, and Dunlap. I hope you are talking about producing by coming off the bench.

As far as bullrush specialists go, he's probably the best. Which is basically like saying "it's the least objectionable thing about Walmart"

He could be a real producer on the defense I have no faith in Fanene, Odom or Geathers and forget about Frosty. Dunlap and that other young guy show promise, but I would still like to see them draft Bowers and go in with alot more depth at DE than what they have been.
It's time to cut some guys that are always injured and can't hang in the NFL with the big boys. ....I think we can get a top notch safety at the top of round 2. Then our D should be in good shape ...Look at the Bears, Packers, Jets and Steelers...You gotta have D.

Fanene would be a better backup behind MJ and Dunlap than Geathers in my opinion if
he can stay healthy. He is not a pure pass rusher but can get the coverage sacks and
can stop the run. He is a decent backup.

Well I would bet your guess is wrong.

How about the fact that they are the NUMBER 1 retail store in the world yet the employees can not afford health care, or better yet cant make a decent living.

Or maybe its because they went into his town and destroyed all the mom and pops stores around like they have in many towns.

Perhaps it could be because just about every single item sold in the store is made in China with what is basically slave labor.

Dude why all the hate against unions? You got a problem with middle class Americans having a decent job? My guess is your a brain washed foxtard

*sorry for my post completely unrelated to the topic*

Fanene had one decent year. I bet the people that want him back are many of the same that wanted Reggie Kelly back last year.

how about you hop into your foreign made car, zoom on up to wal mart where a former proud busniness owner greets you at the door and you can buy some chinese goods from some welfare mom, then scoot on down to mexico to get away from the scary union thugs. all the while complaining about high unemployment and government entitlement programs.

i could care less about Olbermann. Im not a fanatical follower of any news network. Its just there is something about wal mart that really gets me going.

I think he gets cut, mainly for not being able to stay healthy.
