Defense: They need to cut Odom and Geathers. Start Dunlap and Michael Johnson as our starting Defensive Ends. Move Maualuga to the middle, resign Brandon Johnson so he can play outside LB, work Muckleroy into the LB game plan, and then pick up a high quality all purpose Safety by draft or free agency. Priority #1: Got to have a run stopping and pass rushing Defensive Tackle that can push the pile! Right now the Bengals do not have this. When they get this better all round play from the corners, the defensive ends, and safety will surely come. I want to see them if they get the opportunity to draft Nick Fairley, DT out of Auburn if he is there at #4. Otherwise, I want to see them make a run to get Albert Haynesworth by making a trade. I would trade Peko to the Redskins for Haynesworth. If they were to do this they would have to draft a big nose tackle in the draft. There are three or four beast nose tackles that will be available in the 2011 draft. Heck, I would trade Chad Johnson to the Redskins to get Albert Haynesworth.

On Offense: Got to shore up the offensive line. Whitworth has proven he is a great left tackle. But, we do not have guards who can trap block, pull, and who are great at pass protection. I would love to see them make a run for Logan Mankins the free agent guard from the Patriots. If they do this the left side of the line will be strong. I want to see them cut Andre Smith because I believe he has weight issues which are the reason why his foot continually breaks. Lets face it: He has been a Bengal for two years. During those two years he has been overweight and has had foot issues. I think they need to cut ties with him to save some money. You cannot have inconsitent play at the Right Tackle position like we have had these past years. The right tackle position in Bengal land has been like a revolving door! Besides I think we were just as good with Anthony Collins at Right Tackle. We can get a high quality Right tackle in this years draft to compete with Anthony Collins like Demarcus Love, Tackle from Oklahoma, Gabe Carimi, etc. The play from Bobbie Williams this past season was okay. But, it was not stellar. There is a massive Guard out of TCU that is going to be on the draft Board this year. His name is Marcus Cannon, Guard who is 6' 5' and weights 330 pounds. If they do this they will set the offensive line up for the long run. Cannon is a mauler and is a beast! He is massive and that is what we need to knock big nose tackles like Nagota out of there!

On offense we need to commit to be a running team. We need to set our identity as a run team to set up the pass. By the way we do not need Chad Johnson or TO to win. I think the last two games of the season proved that. No, for you AJ Green want a bees, we do not need to draft him! We got Simpson, Caldwell, Gresham, Coffman, and Shipley. Besides, there will be a lot of receivers that will be available in the later rounds. What you do need to win consistently is a power running game. This means we got to have a dependable full back in the line up consistently. We need to run and throw out of a two tight end set with Coffman and Gresham in at the same time. Coaches need to set up play action plays, screens, and also needs to design plays running with Bernard Scott and Benson in at the same time. How about some trap blocking? How about some power sweeps that set up Scott to get him outside where his running strengths are? There needs to be more plays designed to let Carson roll out of the pocket and throw when we need to throw. Why? Carson is too much of a sitting duck laying consistently in the pocket!

This whole season could have been a lot different if the coaches would have done a better job at putting players at the right spots and with better play calling. Also, I think we all can agree the coaches can never go into a game with a game plan that is flexible. In other words the Bengal coaching staff do not know how to make adjustments when needed. That is coaching my friends. Unfortunately there are not going to be no major coaching changes. Brat has already been resigned for another two years! I don't like it. But, all we can do is hope that an old dog will learn new tricks!

Come on guy be realistic! There is not going to be a Bill Cowher signing in Cincy every even when ML's new two year contract is up! We are stuck with this lame duck coaching staff which includes ML and Brat unfortunately! Stick to personnel changes on the players side and game plan changes and play calling!

I just found out we did have a major change! Mike Brown deceided to fire the janitor and water boy who had been with the Bengals for over 15 years. Mike believes that cleaner toilets and more water will make the team a winner!

I agree with pretty much everything you said except one thing. I don't want to see Haynesworth coming here. For a guy making that much money and then whining about the defensive scheme he's playing in, I definitely don't want him on this team....that's for sure. Good player...but you can't take a chance with an attitude like that.

Also, I would love to have Fairley at #4, but I think he will be gone. If he's gone, who would you rather have. I think I would prefer the CB Peterson, because even if we re-sign J Joe, Leon Hall is a free agent next year, and I doubt we re-sign both of them....plus Pacman and Morgan Trent are both coming off pretty significant injuries even though they both look to be on schedule to play next year. I'm not sure about the status of Ghee.

How can you say you don't want Haynesworth, but then turn around and say you want Haynesworth 2.0? Fairley is the next Fat Albert. Same dirty style of play. Similar attitudes. And once Fairley is paid, may become the next Andre Smith. A lazy, no good piece of lard butt worth $60 million.

No sir, I'll pass on Fairley and hope we draft a DE or S in the first and then get a later round DT.

On Defense: I agree we need another DT that can push the pile but i would never trade
Peko for Haynesworth. Chad for Haynesworth? That sounds a lot better. If Fairley is there,
get him. I still think Sims can be that DT if he can stay healthy. Him and Geno were by far
our best DT's last year.

On Offense: All we need to do is be balanced. We improve the interior O-line and we will
be able to run the ball and pass it. This is much tougher to stop than a team that primarily
focuses on running the ball. A team that focuses on being balanced is much better.

Personally i think we should let Benson go. I think we focus too much on getting him the
ball instead of getting the entire running game going. Ced's vision and balance are not very
good at all and Scott, Leonard, Peerman/or another bellcow type would be just fine behind
a decent O-line. I also like Green if he is there. Best WR to come out since Calvin Johnson.

I agree with most of the last part about the coaching. But where did you hear Brat has been
re-signed for 2 more years?!!:nervous:

It is a rumor. I hope only a rumor. But, with the looks of things Brat will still be the OC! You do not take an entire coaching staff to the Senior Bowl if your OC is going to be let go or another one is going to be hired. The writing is on the wall that Brat will be back because MB did not go after any of the OC's! Now most if not all of the OC's are gone! Who would we get now if it was MB's intention to let him go?

I can tell you Brat will be back. The entire coaching staff and front office has close ties with Brat! By the way I did not say he would be fired. Brat's contract is up. All I am saying is that he has already resigned and if not will be resigned! So, we are screwed! Kind of like a marriage. The spouse cheats over and over again but the wife refuses to acknowledge it. The spouse beats the wifes *** over and over again. Yet, she still sticks with him! HA! HA! There are some people that like to get *** whippins continually and won't stop until they get killed!

I would like Jim Anderson our RB coach as our new OC if he was the last option.

Heck i would like the tree in my front yard over Brat.

I agree that we should let Odom walk. But do disagree with letting Geathers go.As of now we don't know if Dunlap or MJ can stop the run as everydown players yet.But im not saying that Geathers should start, but he should stay around in a backup role.

No to Albert, rather have Fairley. He is younger and hungry.Albert has been a whinny player, and is not what we need on defense.

If we can't land Fairley then obviously AJ. would make the most seense, especially if we trade Chad. But like you I really do think WR is not the biggest need with the first pick.I would rather trade down and draft the best OL available. Also I would hope to land a big name FA offensive lineman. Not sure if it will be Logan, and if not there are other good ones that will hit the market.

We all no the coaching problems, and im still holding hope that we make changes after the Senior Bowl. But personally I think Mike Brown thinks he will have a upper hand with the same coaching unit intact.Only because teams might only have a few weeks to prepare for the season. But I know it is yet another MB excuse.

DEFENSE - Start MJ and Dunlap.......ABSOLUTELY. Rey to middle.......Absolutely not!!!
Muckelroy worked into game plan.......Absolutely and in the MLB position. Haynesworth......did we not learn anything from having a guy like TO around? And at least TO was in shape to play football.

OFFENSE - The play of Bobbie Williams' was arguably the worst of any lineman on this team other than Roland. Andre Smith......Absolutely could be dominant at this level. Unfortunately has the Cincy injury bug and that never turns out good. Cut your losses now. Move Nate Livings to RG (where he should be playing), look for a LG in the draft or free agency. Draft Cannon or Carmini in the 2nd RD.

Fairly is nothing like Haynesworth.

Haynesworth was a lazy, underachieving POS in college while Fairly made the commitment to lose weight this season and turn himself into a monster.

Haynesworth is a nut case who has been attacking his own teammates from the time he was in college to when he was with the Titans. Haynesworth has also been in constant trouble with the law which fairly has avoided.

Fairly's nasty attitude on the field is exactly the same as Vince Wilfork. Who doesn't want Wilfork 2.0?

We're all forgetting something.
If the CBA is in place, which I hope it is, then MB has to spend up to the cap. So we're going to have some money to spend for FA's this year. Now whether he spends that money wisely on FA's remains to be seen, but I bet that we get some Interior OL help.

I hope so then we have a great chance of getting Dareus. With all the hype on these boards you would think that Fairley would be the hands down best player at DT in this draft. Apparently, there are many actually paid to evaluate the draft that would not agree with the opinion of many on these boards. Some people may want to do some homework and they will see that several have Dareus rated above Fairley at the position.

*Bolding mine

Get over your freaking Steeler's Envy! We are not a power running team and the NFL is a passing league the way it is set up now. Even the Steelers are chucking it down the field with regularity. You want to get Carson in space? Trap blocking by this offensive line the way it is arrayed now? Forsooth! Sweeps -we have not been able to do this since Steinbach left for Cleveland, and Jeremi for Fat Burger.I like the idea of taking Cannon but I also want Weisinewski at Center. Unless we can trade the #4 we will almost have to take AJ Green-there are only 4 game changers in this years draft, and we are picking 4th.The Bengals will not cut Andre Smith! Bengals signing Mankins in FA-you're dreaming...

I would like to see a balanced offense that can successfully attack the 3-4-that passes because we want to, not because we have to, that runs because we want to take time off the clock-not to keep our underachieving defense off the field.

And for the love of God could we get a kicker that doesn't miss PAT's, and a punter that does not shank every other punt?

I would not trade anyone for Haynesworth, he does not want to earn his money anymore, kind of like Chad and Palmer:eek:, This team is in a totally dysfunctional state as of right now, Noone on the staff ( except maybe Zim and sorta Marvin) has the slightest clue as to how to fix it. Bratkowski has been offered zero HC positions in 13 years as a coordinator, Zero playoff wins, his total win to losses ratio is atrocious at I believe 105 and 202 and 1, all those games and guess how many times he has gone to the playoffs, 2 thats right 2 not 22 but 2 as in 1 and then 2,lol , and lost round 1 both times, But Mike Brown rehires him for some more pain, What a joke! his offense finished next to last in the league the last 3 years, Yet they bring him back year after year for more futility. All the player changes in the world wont help this coaching staff! Carson Palmer follows Bratkowski`s offense to a tee, so there goes the 2011 season down the drain:cry:, We could have hope for success if Palmer ignored Bratkowski every now and then and called his own plays. Audible, yeah thats the word lost in cincinnati, Audible, sounds good doesnt it. Audible,Audible ooh man one more time Audible!!!! Someone tell Palmer to freakin Audible out of the ignorance.

well, my opinion is we do not need a fairley on our team..yes he may have lost weight, and a monster, and a monster he was...but that is part of our problem, we take too many people with problems or past problems, just because mr. brown can get them cheaper...and honestly, one thing im most p***ed about is that when albert stepped on the guy during the game with his cleat, and only got a light punishment...to me, that was one of the most embarrasing moments as of late to be an nfl fan...and if it was to be if he was on our team i would be disgusted...ahmad brooks, odell, henry (r.i.p slim), adam jones, t.o, and etc all had some type of issue, or problems when they came here...and im sure i missed alot more...even rey rey got a d.u.i...but only 1 or 2 of those players are still with us...and thank goodness one of them is jones, cause i love the guy...still has tons of upside and is very young still considering what he went thru...and i could make a case of some rebound out of it, and some dont, but its just the point that now we are kinda known as "that" team that will give everyone a 2nd chance cause it means mikey gets them for cheap...not because he is a sympathetic person like he makes everyone think is the reason...we need to just start putting out the players that want to play, and will at all costs...we are already not good with our "stars", so why not let them have some glory and maybe even get a game or two better next season...we did have a 360 turn during the san diego game without t.o and chad...and i know cause i was at paul brown stadium for the game...jerome and caldwell played their tails off, and look where it got us...and i have never, i repeat never, saw carson as excited as he was when he threw the one td to simpson...it was truly almost a tear coming down my eye, thats how proud i was for carson to finally smile again...

I would rather have the worst DT in the NFL than have the worst person in the NFL on our team. AH should not even be allowed in the NFL after stomping on a players face without a helmet on. That's assault. While I like physical players that have a mean streak I don't want anyone in stripes assualting players on the field..even if the other team is wearing black and yellow.

I usually agree with you Bludgeon but Jeremi Johnson could have easily been a Probowler
in '05 and '06 and he was in Brat's Offense. Brat went completely stupid and used TE's as
FB's starting in '08 with Coats and he never learned.

Sad for him to get even stupider, we need a change before he starts using the O-lineman
at QB.

A FB needs to be low to the ground and be a road grader. Like Marecic. We need a FB,
i like Pressley as well if he can have a whole year in the system. He just didn't impress

I hear you there. I liked the old Brat system where we actually did use Johnson. My beliefs on Brat are as follows. The guy was actually coaching in '05 and '06. Then something happened to him and they replaced him with a robot, one that doesn't know how to coach. Because Brat used to be solid for a couple of season, then he went straight down the tubes.

You're right about us needing a FB too. I just hope that A) Brat wakes up and remembers how to use one, or B) that we hire an OC that does. A good FB would be great for our entire offense.

Mmmm besides seeing Fairley "could transition to a 3-4" pretty much seen exactly how he had it.

"Final word: It's not often 3-4 defensive ends come along who are as polished, strong and athletic as Dareus. Playing end in Alabama's pro-style 3-4 defense, Dareus should start as a rookie if a team with the same scheme picks him up." -nflsoup

"Fairley is almost surely a Top 5 pick, and could easily be the #1 overall pick for the Carolina Panthers. He’ll compete with A.J. Green and fellow defensive lineman for the top spot in the draft. While he could make the transition to the 5 technique in a 3-4, it wouldn’t highlight his skillset as a pure penetrating defensive tackle. He’s best off playing a 3 technique in a 4-3 defense" -mockingthedraft

But still....TEs as FBs? That's no way to address a running game. You would think that if you were angry at the running game, you'd use a fullback, not a TE. Maybe it was Marvin's call. We don't know. But a stupid call nonetheless.

Hey, i don't like the re-signing of Marv either but how can you say everyone knows that
Marvin handcuffed Brat? How is it Marv putting TE's in at the FB position? How is Marv
handcuffing Brat exactly?

It is possible, but if this is true than all my hate for Brat is pretty much unwarranted. Marv

forever or until MB and Marv are gone.
