would Marvin resign in protest?

Would Marvin do a "if he goes, I go?"

Marvin's already tried a "unless he (Brat) goes, I go" and Mike put the screws on him after promising to "consider" some coaching changes. Yeah right, like my first girlfriend considered giving me a ... Anyway, now Carson's trying the same thing. But Mike Brown is one mean-arse pimp, and he don't like his beatches to get all uppity on him. He's gotta put them in their place, right?

What a great businessman and inspiring figure.

I think Brat's fate controls Carson's decision and maybe Marvin's. We should get that answer within the next week to 10 days.

It's this simple: If Carson retires, I see this entire organization falling into utter chaos. Not only can I see coaches (i.e. Marvin) resigning, but I can see other players demanding a trade or choosing not to come back as well (i.e. Chad, J.Jo, Cedric, several others down the road as their contracts expire...). Carson leaving will be the real beginning of the end, this franchise will be left in utter shambles, more than ever before. And you know what... that's exactly what this franchise needs. We need to get a lot worse before we can get any better. We need to hit rock bottom so that Mike will have nothing left and making changes will be his only option.

Would love it. Carson's retirement turns into the doomsday device that destroys Mike Brown's insane grip on this team.

Totally completely agree with you. I hope everything crumbles for Mikey. I honestly wish the worse for the team (nothing personally, just the team, not the players). Just that CLOWN of a person who claims he is an NFL owner.

I hope Carson goes to San Fran or Arizona, or somewhere out west and resurrects his career. He deserves better.

I hope everyone jumps ship. I hope Mike Brown is forced to beg back Ryan Fitzpatrick.

I cannot wait to see how this unfolds.

And if Carson does retire, then good for him. Its not like he needs the money and what does that say about how this team is run.

Totally agree. I hope Mikey loses most of what he has invested in this team and is forced to sell!

We can dream, unfortunately, Mikey has an absolute crap ton of money, just from his undeserving GM bonus he gives himself every year in excess of a million dollars.

For some reason, Buffalo loves Fitzpatrick.

Maybe he can hope for Kitna back.

If it hasn't happened in the past 20 dark years, what on earth makes you think this time would be different?

I'm afraid that's correct. Tear it down and rebuild it.

Marvin would just say that he sees some positive things to build on.

I agree with you. I don't know about ML leaving because I am not sure how much of him staying has played into this. Obviously, he has been adament about Carson being QB but now we know they have known this for a little while. It will get very worse before it gets better. Palmer is a player's man. Other QBs always give him props. I can see a mass exodous out of Cincy with us left with draftees and people off the street. Maybe not but this will be worse than the past years, 90s, and so on. Hopefully there will be light at the end of the tunnle but until then it is a bad time to be a Bengals fan.
