Do you guys think Carson would sit out the 2011 season if there is one? If he is willing to consider retirement, which I highly doubt, than why wouldn't he just sit out this year.

I don't blame Carson for wanting out. Mike Brown is a terrible owner and is getting worse by the minute. He's kept cancers in the past so this doesn't surprise me. Especially since Palmer is the franchise golden boy QB.

I doubt Palmer is the kind of guy that would completely give up on his teammates but has Mike Brown driven him to that point?

Carson Palmer doesn't like Marvin Lewis nor does he like Bratkowski. So, why would he want to continue to be a part of it. He has 50 million reason to stay.. so if that's not enough there has to be something terribly wrong.

He's set for life financially. I bet he'd gladly take a pay cut in order to make a trade realistic.

"Boomer Esiason joined Florio on Monday’s PFT Live and discussed when he made a similar request of the Brown family. The Bengals kept Esiason for one more year, drafted a replacement (David Klingler), then traded Esiason the following offseason to one of the teams he requested."

Why not? He has plenty of money, and a family to take care of plus the year off may enable him to heal and play better. I would not blame him for refusing to play for this team. As much as I like Carson, I think it would be best for him to go to a different team, one that has some form of desire to win. I could see him going to Seattle and making them perennial division champs until he retires. In my opinion Carson still has the tools, he has just lost the "will" which happens to nearly every good player that comes here....See Chad Johnson (not Ocho Cinco).

Carson wouldn't sit out, he would retire. He may go down as one of the best Bengals leaders because of this chess match he has against Mike Brown and the FO.

What would sitting out do for him? He doesn't get paid and he doesn't fulfill a year of his contract.

I would as well
But I'd love him even more if he got Mike Brown to get rid of Brat and get a new OC. Then the Bengals have a chance at a winning record next year.
Just stand your ground Palmer, you'll be a hero one way or another:thumbsup:

Carson will be fine no matter what happens. So will MB. The fans will continue to be the losers.
