i don't want to draft one.
i don't care if Carson leaves or not, we have too many other holes that must be filled and if we pass on one to get a QB then we are in a hole
especially since there really isn't one worth drafting. there isn't a franchise QB out there this year in my mind.
it would be a wasted pick. i'd rather sure up other areas and down the road get one.....it's not like we would have a chance next year with a rookie QB at the helm anyway.

I'd like to see LaFevour at the helm. He was on the roster the entire 2010 season, knows the offense.

I'd say get a Alex Smith or Young for 1 year cheap draft Mallot in 2nd or later in the 1st. I think he will be a better pro prospect than he was a college QB. As much as I hate Brown the truth is this is all we can hope for maybe by 2015 we will resemble a NFL franchise from the early 80's LOL

When you look at the "LUCKless" 2011 quarterback class, I think you'd be hard pressed to say any one of them has more skill or potential than Dan LeFevour. Using a pick in the top three rounds to pick a QB from this crop would be, in my opinion, like throwing a pick away. I think most of us agree this franchise has hit bottom, so why not use our top picks at priority positions (pass rushing d-lineman; safety, o-line) and find out if LeFevour can play or not. He was picked in the sixth round but was projected a third or fourth round pick before the draft. He is the only NCAA quarterback ever to throw for over 12000 yards and run for over 2500 yards. His knock was it would take time to transition from a shotgun type quarterback to being under center. He has had a whole year of practice and coaching to do just that. Let's see what he has. We really don't have much to lose. (This is all if Carson retires like it has been reported)

He's had a year, but I'm not so sure about the coaching part, this bunch couldn't coach two dogs humping.

You got that right. Remember Simpson wasn't ready, Dunlop wasn't ready, Andre Smith is a better RT, who needs a fullback lets get a LB to play fullback, Simms wasn't ready, Rey is a better OLB, Scott doesn't know how to pass block, OL is ok to just plug guys in etc.............

If Carson should leave ( which it will not happen ) plan to start LeFevour, draft Colin Kaepernick in 2nd round, have these 2 fight it out. Draft best DL on board with 1st pick
take best safety with 3rd. Sign best available FA guard or 2

I honestly believe Palmer will be the starter after the first three games next season, “IF” there is a next season. I think he is very serious about getting out of Cincinnati, but really doesn't have that much leverage. I can see this going into next season with Palmer trying to hold out as much as he can, but will eventually come back.
The smartest thing organization can do while this situation plays out, is to get the best veteran QB they can get with starting potential. Focus on the run and win a few games without Palmer. But this is still way too early to speculate because there isn’t a new collective bargaining deal yet.
It would be a wasted pick in the first round to get a QB. Not going to happen unless they part ways with Palmer before hand, it would be too much money going into one position. I would much rather have the best DT on the board to help out with the pass rush!!!

I would like to see LeFevour get a shot, but because of who we are coaching in the Senior Bowl, I could see us getting Ricky Stanzi or Colin Kaepernick. Personally I would prefer us to draft Kaepernick because he's got a huge arm and good mobility.

We just set our franchise back another 4 years. (on top of the other 20)

I said it when some of you guys thought he was getting traded months ago and I'll say it again, Carson is the starter and will be the starter here until he retires or gets a career ending injury, took mike brown 13 years to draft a QB that was not a complete bust
Mike Brown loves him some bell cow

Lefevour (sp) should get a shot if Carson isn't there. How about trading for that 3rd string guy off the Bears? He looked decent in the playoffs. What was his name?

Sexy rexy!!!! Seriously, his contract with the Redskins is up, he's pretty awful so Mike Brown would love him AND he would already be the QB right now if we hadn't passed on him in 2008 for cheap-O'Sullivan.

Caleb Hanie, and he looked a lot better than Todd Collins, that's for sure. Got to wonder how Collins got the nod over him AND LeFevour before putting up what has to be the worst starting performance in in a LOOOOOOOOONG time.

We should....
Trade Carson to the Deadskins for McNabb & draft picks, cheap considering his age.
Pick up Problem Child / Head Case Vince Young also for cheap with his baggage.
Finally Draft Cam Newton with the 4th pick. The only expensive option, and maybe the CBA can help us avoid ruining another Heisman winner in 10 year flat.
Who Don't???

I'd trade Palmer for Matt Hasselback, get a high draft pick from them,we might be able to get a 1st rounder, take A.J Green in the draft, then draft a big offensive lineman or defensive tackle with our second 1st rd pick, then in the second we draft a safety like deandre mcdaniel from clemson

I think Carson is gone. Mike Brown will have to trade him when the fans stop buying season tickets. I think we'll end up with Vince Young or McNabb as the QB. They'll start grooming someone from the draft as well. If I were a football player, I wouldn't want to go to Cincy. I still think there will be a lockout for 2011 and no season anyway.

Jamarcus Russel is a Mikey kind of player. He is smart has Loads of talent, and no heart, or work ethic. He is cheap right now if he is still available. In Oakland he was to busy to learn the playbook. With Brat as offensive coordinator I envision a wonderful relationship. Brat's playbook consists of 5 plays even Jamarcus can make time to learn this.I bet he could learn it in one sitting.

Its Jon, I don't know why this bothers me so bad lol. Grammar police, my bad.
I seriously don't like the idea going in with Dan "The Fever" as our QB. He reminds me of Colt Brennan a bit too much. I say we go after Kevin Kolb, I think he might have what it takes to be an above average QB. Build on the defense and put a solid running game in place, with a QB who can manage the game and make plays when called upon.
