Did the smoking ban in Cincinnati work out? I was told that some places closed but wasn't sure. We are getting one where I live was just comparing. Thanks.

Actually the smoking ban is state wide now. I'heard on 700wlw talk radio that there were some Cinci/Hamilton area bar owners that have formed a group to petition the state to have it put back on the ballot and revoted.
There have been a few places go out of business already in Cinci and few who continue to allow people to smoke. It's been pretty controversial.
(ps. I love your garage, by the way!)

There are two bars I go to. One is up for sale (can't think why someone would want a bar in this state) and the other is hurting real bad. So bad the owner calls me to come out.
I have not heard of a petition to have it put back on the ballot and revoted, but I'd sign one. It's not only the bar owners this law hurts, but their venders have taken a big hit too.
What is the goverment going to tell us we can't do next? Serve people over 300lbs a Big Mac.

What if I have a heart attcak and fall on you because of it. My point is why is the goverment telling someone how to run their business. I don't eat at McDonlads because it's bad for me. I don't eat there because I don't care for the food.

Thats different than breathing in smoke..I understand the whole "I dont like being told what and what not to do" but smoking puts others in harms way, if you are a restauraunt and you go out of business because you dont allow smoking then I think that shows that your business wasnt that successful to begin with..People will go regardless if the atmosphere/food is good..If you fail because of no smoking then you shouldn't have been in business regardless and it would probably have been a matter of time before they closed shop anyways.
I dont eat that crap because its bad for me and I dont smoke nor do I want to be around it because its bad for me.

To me it seems like that since all bars had to do it, business wouldn't drop, but I guess being so close to Kentucky that people go over there.

I have no problem with a restaurant not allowing smoking. Now people won't just sit there after eating having coffee and a few smokes while other people wait to be seated. People eat and leave = more money for the servers, so that helps the people working there. And I can't stand when someone blows smoke in my face when I eat.
In bars most of the people smoke and if thats not true why has their business dropped 50% since the law and not gone up now that non smokers don't have to worry about smokers. I have a couple friends that don't smoke and didn't go out because of the smokeing, but now with the ban they still don't go out. They say the place is to dead. If non smokers wanted a bar they could go to and drink without smokers why didn't someone open a non smoking bar. Oh whait there was one in Cincinnati, but it closed after a couple months due to lack of business.

Why do smokers feel the need not to go out because they cant smoke? Seriously is smoking that important to you that it holds you back from going out and having a good time..Last time I checked people go to bars to have a good time, get there drink on, dance and get laid...Nobody goes to bars to smoke..It just doesn't make sense..I love my beer but if they dont carry my favorite lager at a restaurant isnt a deal breaker...Smokers are just whiners...Why should places cater to them when they didn't cater to non-smokers for the longest time.

I didn't go to bars to smoke, but if I go out I don't want to stand out in the rain or snow to smoke. Still my big problem is with someone (what ever group) telling someone else how they want them to run their own business. If everyone decided to stop going to the bar for what ever reason and the bar went under than so be it. And we all know it's not going to stop there. Next smokers wont be able to smoke in their cars (I don't, but that's my choise) or in there own house. Why don't we just outlaw drinking. That can hurt others. Maybe that's next?

Why do you feel the need to smoke if you go out? Cant you control it for a period of time? Before the ban would you smoke at church? Its a double edged sword and heads will always butt because of it...Flat out smoking has effects on people around you which is why its controlled..I agree people should be able to do whatever they want, but if it puts other people in harms way then it should be controlled....

Why do people like to smoke when they go out, I can't answer that. Why do people like to drink? Maybe we should ban the auto maker from making cars that go over 35mph. That way people that want to drive can still drive, but there will be less deaths because the cars can't go as fast. If people still feel the need to go fast they can get a horse and fill the wind blow across their face.

35 is to fast...Ever ride without a seatbelt and slam on your brakes at 15mph...You still get thrown out of your seat...Driving is bad.

No driving's not bad there are bad drivers. Knock on wood I've never had an accident so I couldn't say what a slow enough speed would be not to harm anybody. 35 just sounded slow to me for interstate driving that is.

But businesses needs rules. For example, you would have businesses selling alcohol until 4am if they could. I do understand what you are saying, I am a non smoker and when I go to bars I know what to expect with all the smoke so it is my choice, but I do love the idea of non smoking bars.
Btw, cool Nuxhall sig.
