First, let me say that I trust Marvin, but what could of happened if I were GM. I knowalready, no need to say the Bengals would be done for. I won't do rounds 4-7 because we don't know these guys very much compared to scouts, who study these players with unlimited info.

1st- Leon Hall
-We needed a CB, best available player at a need position, good pick.
Other Possibilites- Reggie Nelson, Greg Olsen, Jon Beason

2nd- Ryan Kalil
-A center was a need, and getting a FA one isn't good.
Kenny Irons-Great Player, but we don't need a RB this much.
Other possibilites- Eric Wright, Turk McBride, Johnathan Wade

But we signed that Steponavich guy...he is sopposed to be very good...what's wrong with signing a FA center?

we are very strong on the o-line{gaichauc,wilkerson,stepnowsiki}so no to kalil.Now the whole eric wright thing ,everyone is saying that if he didn't have the off the field stuff he would have been the 1st corner taking,but i say if the dead guy didn't die he wouldn't be dead. The only problem with that is , hes dead .We can't keep looking at guys and going,if he didn't,when the fact is he did.Name me one r-back on the team that can run inside and outside with speed and power,thats not hurt.rudi can't get the corner,watson can't run inside, and most of the time misses the whole anyways{mabye because he was a wide-out at penn.state not a running back,thats whay he can catch real good}Oh yeah and watson and rudi run 4.6 -40yard dashes. So our power back and our speed back have the same speed. Enter irons a true do it all back .Speed 4.4-40yard dash{with make you mis moves}one guy will not bring me down mentallity,the ball is my friend type of catcher{doesn't fight the ball when it is thrown to him}

No offense, but u are wrong in every degree with the second round pick. We do need a RB and Irons is a good one that can actually make people miss and break away with quickness and acceleration. A center in the second would have been terrible. We have OL's. Eric Wright has character issues, McBride was to me not the best available DT in the second and Wade went later than round 2.

He's been out of college for a while, and was in the wasteland of Arizona. People think that if you come from a bad team, that you aren't worth anything. In reality Kalil could be no better than Stepps and people would still be willing to hand him the starters job, because he was a recent college star.
Steppanovich lost his starting C job at OSU to Nick Mangold, who is a star with the Jets. He went on to be a guard and did very well, until moving back to his primary position during the draft. This kid is a versatile, tenacious wall.

Another what-if: what if we kept DeDe Dorsey last year? the Colts have enough faith in him to keep him as the #2 back behind inexperienced Joseph Addai. If we kept Dorsey, we definitely could have gone in a direction other than Irons (who I still believe will be a nice surprise).
