If we go Dt in the 2008 draft we need to look at Frank Okam a 6'5" 320lbs Sr. out of Texas. H eis a great run stopper who can get push up the middle.
The other big man is Glenn Dorsey a 6'2" 299lbs St. out of LSU. The only knock on him is that he has disappeared at times in games.
I think a good long look at Joseph Bryant a 6'5" 322lbs Sr. out of Texas A&M is needed.
The best thing about him is he maybe ther in the second rd.
We could then take a TE with out third rd pick.
1st DE
2nd DT
3rd TE
We could fix the D line, and get the red zone help we have needed this year.

I'm all for getting Frank Okam. I think he'd a be a solid addition for us. I think he'd probably draw some double teams which would let one of our DLs or LBs get free to make a play. I think he'd be the best DT option for us. I'm not sold on Dorsey since he's around the Thornton size and I just don't want Sedrick Ellis, not sold on him.

Obviosly from my screen name you can tell who my college team is, so I'll put that disclaimer out there. But generally I'm pretty objective about SC players (for instance I think we took Rucker too early, he was more like a 4th round pick)

However I've seen every single one of Ellis's games for the past 4 years and I can tell you truly he is a beast. Great motor, really, really strong, gets doubled teamed on every play and still gets pressure on the QB and stops the run. I've also seen most of Dorsey's games this year and I have to say from my point of view Ellis is better. I don't know muh about Okam as I haven't seen much of Texas the last couple of years.

this is what i've been screaming and another olineman in the 3rd or another passrusher (may have to 3rds this year)

How about Dre Moore from Maryland...

Gholston or Laurinaitis in the first, I'd be happy with either one...which is EXACTLY why it won't happen.

I've seen Okam, and he looks to be a good prospect, and one that a lot of teams don't know about. However, the combine changes everything.

I was pretty disappointed in Glenn Dorsey. I've watched a few LSU games thinking he might be a good pick for the Bengals in the first round. In all honesty though, I'm just not seeing it.. Maybe it's because the injuries, but he really didn't impress me at all. Wasn't overly quick off the snap. Didn't really push the pocket much. Didn't do much of anything that I can rember in the games I saw.

I haven't been impressed with him at all. I've seen him get beat by some inferior O-lines at times. I also think that he's rouhgly around the size of Thornton and we don't need another Thornton type player when it comes to talent, we can find some other guy to step up and be a leader.

I am starting to think we will draft a safety. Dexter is getting old and has his replacement in the nuke. Madieu could be gone and will want alot of money. Marv White has not done his job to show he can take over so i could see us drafting safety first round second round DT and third round an offensive player and maybe a LB.

Why did you think I said Dorsey disappears in games.
I'm from SEC country. I think he is overrated.

How is he overrated? i do not think he is the best DT but i would not say he is overrated. He deserves to go in the top 5.

I'm a big SEC fan also. Here is my take on Dorsey. He is very quick and athletic, but he is not very big. I think he is the type of guy that may have trouble with the transition from college to NFL. He has looked very good in some games, but he is surrounded by a sick amount of talent. Three of LSU's front seven players could be first round picks (Dorsey, LB Ali Highsmith, and DE Tyson Jackson). I really don't see him as a top 5 pick.

He has been injured for the last few games, so it is hard to judge him on those performances. I jst hope he is stil hobbled whenhe plays against my Vols this Saturday.
