Not trying to be a :homer: but seriously...OSU returning (possibly) 10 of 11 starters on defense and their qb and their rb and their top 2 wide receivers and 3 of their 5 o-linemen as well as having arguably the top recruiting class thus far? The Buckeyes.

and we all know they will probably be ranked going into the season:vomit:

It's OK to be a homer as long as you're being realistic. I think that OSU will have a good team next year, and they very well could make it to Miami. But I really think the Gators will be there. Their defense is going to be solid next year, and their offense is going to be even better than this year.

:vomit: I loathe Notre Dame! Nice job NBC on picking them up on a 5-year contract. Way to really go after a winner. Nevermind that they haven't beat a top 10 team in 5 years.

Hmmmm, liking the love for USC, but i think next year will be a rebuilding year. We will lose the majority of our defensive starters (if the juniors declare for the draft), Booty, washington, and davis. Isay we will be a one loss or two loss team, and another BCS bowl berth. But who knows, mabey they will surprise me...

As for top teams, Georgia and Auburn. Aurburn only loses Cox, who ***** those as well (if the freshman wasn't hurt, he would have started) And Georgia just has so much young talent, and look at them this year.

If either Laurinaitis or Jenkins come back OSU will be #1. If all the juniors come back, OSU will be a unanimous #1.

If Ohio State's non seniors return, they'll be a force. If they can get passed USC that is.

Georgia is the other team that is a very formitable club.

USC will be losing a LOT of defense this year.

That's true, but they are always at or near the top during recruitment.

I know USC will lose veterans, but it will definately be a difficult game for Ohio State.

I know, but to discount the rest of the field, the tops of which may have teams with a ton of returning starters like Ohio State, Oklahoma etc, and throw Florida in there who got has three losses this year is a bit homerish to me.

Tebow will have a one full season under him, and that gives people tape to watch of him. Unless he develops as a pocket passer, people are going to be spying him on his runs next year and his production will drop.

I think Florida is getting a lot of hype because of last year, and I think they're overrated this year, at three losses they should be ranked around the 15-20 range, not the top ten.

So having one of the best offenses and a defense that will be lights out next year merits being ranked in the mid-teens? As for spying on Tebow, he's played the WHOLE season, don't ya think by now that someone would have figured out how to stop him? BTW, he has one of the highest passer efficiency ratings in the nation. The kid can throw the ball. Sounds like somebody's hating on the Gators. Mark it down, at the VERY least, Florida will win the SEC next season.

Preseason polls focus on how you finish just as much as how you are talented. Every team in the country is talented, but those three losses have hurt them, and this year, they shouldn't be top 10. Next year, if you want them at 8 or so, that's fine.

Not at all hating on the Gators, I think they are a fine team, but I don't think they are all they are cracked up to be. They really squandered a golden opportunity this year to stake their claim as the elite team in the SEC.

As for someone stopping him....you get a lot more study time in the offseason then you do in a week of prep time leading up to a game. Someone will figure him out, mark my words.

UGA already did figure him out, get at him and put him in the dirt early.

Also, how does that guy know that their defense is going to be lights out? You don't, you are assuming.

People are living way too much in last year. Florida isn't nearly as good as they were last year, plain and simple. They could be better next year, but right now, they can't take down the elite teams in the country, no matter how badly you think the SEC is the best.

It is difficult to argue against them being best. However, I don't think that automatically grants one of the SEC teams a bid in the NC game every single year.

Florida had a tremendous team and year last year.......but that was last year.

LSU had a chance, but they blew it...TWICE. Georgia still has an outside but unlikely chance.

Realistically speaking, the SEC is another football conference, they don't get a bye into the title game, they have to earn it...and the fact that they play in the SEC just doesn't satisfy the "earning" criteria.

With that said, Auburn deserved to go over Oklahoma in 03 (i think)

No arguement from me here. Oklahoma got smoked against Kansas State, and then they got smoked against USC. Auburn definately deserved a shot...and that game would've been incredible.

It would've been one heckuva game.

Ummmm.... ask anybody that KNOWS SEC FOOTBALL and they will tell you that Florida is an ELITE SEC Team. Little history for ya, they have more SEC Championships and appearances since the Championship Game began. Aside from the Ron Zook Era, they have consistently been a top ten team. They have won 2 national championships in 10 years. The SWAMP is consistently rated as one of the toughest places to play in college football.
As for squandering a golden opportunity, they lost EVERYBODY from that defense last year, and you KNOW how strong that unit was. This year was a rebuilding year for the Gators, therefore they'll be right back playing at the top again next season. Players like Joe Haden, Major Wright, Jermaine Cunningham, Brandon Spikes, and Dustin Doe will be the leaders of the defense.

There is a MAJOR difference between the BigTen and the SEC. In the SEC there is consistently at LEAST 5 teams that could win the conference (LSU, Auburn, Florida, Georgia, and Tennessee), as opposed to the Big Ten with barely three (OSU, Michigan, Wisconsin). Therefore, there isn't as much of a shot of conference dominance in the SEC as there is in the BigTen where two schools (I'm throwing out Wisconsin) consistently rule the roost.

As for Tebow, maybe someone WILL shut him down in a game... maybe. But the Gators Offense is so strong that players like Percy Harvin and Riley Cooper can take over a game to relieve the pressure on Tebow. Plus, we get the kid from USC Moody to run the ball next season.
