Simple question. Kolb or Skelton?

Kolb, by all accounts, is the more talented of the two. (See draft spot, trade value, and 6 year 65 million deal) In his last start he did manage to lead Arizona to win over Dallas, which may be their best win to date.

Skelton on the other hand has won 5 of his 6 starts. His numbers aren't great, but for whatever reason they've played pretty well with behind center.

Do you want to go with facing the more talented of the two, or the hot hand?

They are winning with Skelton, but he is MUCH worse.

And if we go by just the raw rating that PFF uses, he's the 3rd worst QB in the league (after Painter, and by a longshot, Gabbert).

Don't care either way. Play the damn game.

Get the defense the lead and let Zim come after him and double up Fitz.

I want to face Kolb no question. My friend is a Cards fan so if the bengals arent on i watch the arizona game with him. Kolb is SLIGHTLY a better overall QB but i like facing him better than skelton for 1 reason. Skelton LOVES to target Larry Fitzgerald while Kolb spreads it out more. I don't like our chop shop secondary against Fitz so the less targets the better.

I want Kolb. The Cardinals needed a QB just as badly was we did going into this season. And while we went the route of correctly scouting, and selecting our QB in the draft, they went a different route. We managed to find some decent value in the 2nd round. They elected to ship a 2nd round pick and a quality corner, then ink Kolb to a 65 million dollar deal. I want to beat that guy. I think it would somewhat validate the route we took, and show that we may have played our cards (no pun) better than someone else for once. And that someone else just so happens to be a team that is two years removed from a Super Bowl appearance. I don't mean to say that the Kolb signing's success rides on this one game, or he was a bad choice. But I'd love to see our rookie led team beat their 65 million dollar investment lead team.

Also, we just faced two backups, and I don't want any of the talking heads to diminish our wins for any reason. Give me their starter, and let's make a little statement this week. Fair or not, we all know it's hard for the Bengals to get credit nationally. Back to back wins over Clemmens and Skelton will just leave the skeptics with something else to point to when they're doubting us.

Playing against Kolb would pretty much guarantee us a win.

Skelton is 5-1 as a starter, but Kolb has shown an amazing ability to seamlessly transition from being overpaid to stand on the sidelines with a concussion in Philly to being overpaid to stand on the sidelines with a concussion in Arizona.

I'd say it's a toss-up.

I want to say Skelton, because he is still a backup QB playing on the road in colder weather.

However, if Kolb starts he has been out for a few games and the offense might not get into rythm right away.

There is not really a drop off from Kolb to Skelton or vice versa IMO... They are both decent... The key is pressuring whoever it is.. lol

Both. That means we are getting enough pressure on the QB to knock one out. Nothing serious or anything but, hey, it's time to win at all cost!

That's tough. Different reasons for both,....Current qb is hot, bench qb is a better overall player. I say, it don't matter. I think playing the BEST and winning against them is FINALLY what we need to do. So, the best for them now is the CURRENT starter.

I like this idea. Sounds like the best option to me!

Skelton isn't good at all. The wins he has are more of a result of excellent defensive and special teams improvement. So I'd rather face him than Kolb, who while not very good, can manage the offense pretty well

It does not matter to good teams who the QB is they will be facing they prepare for both and they are prepared by the coaching staff to win.

Kolb. In his limited playing time he's missed a lot of snaps. Were he the starter, the passing gameplan would be built around his skill set, which is very different than Skelton's. An injury to Kolb in the game would have a drastic change on what they can/will do versus what they practiced and prepared to do. Thus I want Kolb in there.

Reading the tea leaves from Twitter, etc. it looks pretty darn certain that it will be Skelton getting the start tomorrow.

EDIT: Schefter is reporting it as early as last evening

RIGHT NOW, I WOULD prefer kolb as he is hurtin and hasn't played for while as the other guy is playing lights out right now and is very dangerous. he is 6'6inches and 244 lbs and has the ability to extend plays like big ben of pitt. he scares me and he is hard to bring down with his size and he sees the field very well. he will be the biggest challenge for us.he can sling it down the field real good all day and he will be going to fitzy all day, as we have no one that can cover that guy. adam jones is too small and will not get it done. this could be a big problem

skelton is very good and is a beast to bring down. he is 6' 6 inches tall and weighs 244 lbs. have you seen this guy. he can see the field very well and will be going to fitzy all day. he can sling it the whole field and is a very good runner and hard to bring down. he extends plays like big ben and he reminds folks of him with his ability to keep a play alive. we will have to play very good on d to beat this guy.our defense must lay some serious licks on this guy and make him start hurtin and looking for dunlap. if he makes alot of plays with his legs we are in for a long day. i predict this guy will be a starter next year somewhere.. believe me.

I'd prefer to play Kolb but I'm not really worried about either guy. If the Bengals cant beat Kolb or Skelton at home with everything on the line they have no business being in the playoffs.
