Alright, well the bowl season is nearing, FEB 22nd starts the combines, and this is a very very very rough mock draft, but still, I plan on to continue my mock draft, give you more analysis as time comes closer, but he is the list today.

(We trade Rudi Johnson to Falcons for 2nd pick in the 5th round)

Round 1.)
Cincinnati Bengals Select: Calais Campbell DE/Miami U.
-With Justin Smith hopefully gone, I believe that Sedrick Ellis goes right before us, as well as Vernon Gholston. We take a guy who has a very high potential ceiling, with his frame being 6'8 280.

Round 2.)
Cincinnati Bengals Select: Frank Okam DT/Texas.
- I could see us trading up to get him, I could see us trading our 2, and next years 3rd round to move up to get Frank Okam. A big run stuffing DT, who can bring pressure on the QB. Sounds fairly nice does it not?

Round 3.)
Cincinnati Bengals Select: Cody Wallace C/Texas A&M.
- This has been the biggest hole in our offense. I see us resigning Stacy Andrews, and I see Willie coming back for one more year. Making our O-Line of, Jones, Whit, Wallace, Williams, Anderson. I think that Wallace is a Richie Braham clone, and I think leadership will be something he will help carry with us.

Round 3 (via Steinbach)
Cincinnati Bengals Select: Jesse Silva CB/S/Boston College.
- With Deltha possibly leaving, that depeletes a hole in our nickle coverage, also in depth. Jesse Silva is the leader in INT in the NFL, and he also can return punts. something we might need if Chatman is not here next year. This kid also provides top quality leadership, has a knack for the ball, and hits people in the mouth. Sounds like a great combination with Leon Hall, Duke Nukem and Marvin White.

Round 4.)
Cincinnati Bengals Select: Weslie Woodyard LB/Kentucky.
- This kid is once again a leader in the lockeroom, he sticks out on the Kentucky Defense as a sore thumb, because it seems like he is always around the ball, making tackles, he knows how to wrap up the ball carrier, and he can blitz very well. This kid should go higher, but right now they are saying he is late 4th or earlier 5th. He is this years HB Blades, but better.

Round 5.)
Cincinnati Bengals Select: Jasper Brinkley LB/South Carolina.
- This kid could of been a first round draft pick. Injuries has plaqued him his senior year, and a red flag has been thrown upon him because of that. I believe almost everybody is a free agent in our LB core, and with this kid you get, (I know sounds repetitive but its the truth) leadership, hard hitting, solid coverage skills and instinct.

Round 5.)
Cincinnati Bengals Select: Caleb Campbell S/Army.
-What is there not to love about this kid? He is great. He has hands, he has speed, he has insticts, leadership, tackling.. I like this kid a lot.

Round 6.)
Cincinnati Bengals Select: Kellen Davis TE/Michigan State.
-First Team All American for the Big 10 Conference. He can catch the ball, run routes, correct patterns, and he can block. I believe he is a very big upgrade from Daniel Coates.

Round 7.)
Cincinnati Bengals Select: Hugh Charles RB/Colorado.
-Chris Perry might be cut, we traded Rudi Johnson (see above) . Hugh Charles was injured for the first 3 games of this year, but ever since he has came back, he has done awesome and he is a very decent running back available in round 7. Also he could help on special teams.

Well there you have it. Rough Mock Draft V.1

I would be ecstatic if we got Okam in the 2nd. I believe Watson will be here. Carson likes him and this team tries to please him as much as possible.

I also feel Caleb campbell would be a great pick-up. I think had him going to us in this round too....

Very good mock draft I think the first pick is a bit of a reach but would not mind that to happen. Woodyard probably wont be there in the fourth but if he fall we have to take him. Why would Kenny Watons walk somewhere else he is under contract till 20010.

This is one of the best mock drafts I have seen so far.

I thought he signed a 1 year deal, my bad. Fixing it. Thanks though for letting me know that, I dunno why I thought he only signed a 1 year deal. That kinda rules out the last pick but oh well

Calais might be a reach there at 9, I completely agree. I think that if we could trade down and stock pile a 3rd round pick, I would be happy. I know a lot of people like Sedrick Ellis, I am not sold on him, I would think Calais or Gholston would be an appropriate pick over him.

I think the DT class is very thick this year, and there are a lot of good kids coming out, so why spend a 1st round draft choice on a undersized DT, when Frank Okam has a very realistic chance of being there in the 2nd round.

You're not the only one that made a mistake on Watson. Earlier this year I kept talking about him being a FA only to find out that he was here for 3 years. I am with you that I'm not sold on Ellis from USC, I guess I'll have to watch the Rose Bowl intently. Campbell is intriguing, but I've heard so many mixed things on him that I think I'm going to have to wait on the combine for him. This is going to be an amazing DT class and I'm looking forward to it. I've seen Okam's name all over the place, but if it's there at our pick in the 2nd, then we must jump all over it.

Great mock draft, and I think you've choosen great people to fill our holes. I wonder if anyone will take Rudi Johnson though via a trade? I really like Rudi, but the shelf life for a running back isn't very long. I remember one year Eddie George was running good next year he was with the Cowboys looking like a slug and then out of football (Eddie also is a real great guy, too).

I could see a team who would like to have a decent back-up running back who is proven for a draft pick.

I think a team like Tenn (Chris Brown contract expires), Houston (I think Ron Dayne was only on a one year deal) Dolphins, (very unstable Ronnie Brown) could be teams interested in the 4 million dollar man Rudi Johnson.

I don't really want to give up on Rudi, but I think the coaches need to have a critical talk with him. They need to find out if he's willing to go back to a 225+ lbs. frame. He's a power back and he needs a power back built. If he doesn't want to gain weight and chooses to stay at this <220 lbs. size, then we'll have to see if we can trade him.

Agree with Peko, with some adjustments. A 2 gap DT as No. 1 or FA like Haynesworth; A Center with an IQ of at least 80 as No. 2, believe this is the reason for 3.5 yds/carry; A pass rushing DE as No. 3, you can't beat Manning or Brady without pressure; and as No. 4 a good backup OLman, currently we have none. 5. a TE for under the cover 2. LB's are fine, especially if Thurman returns. I believe that Smith, Rudi, C. Perry, D Jackson are a few that are gone, and that a brute RB to supplement those that we have would be nice.

Pretty good draft. I saw Woodyard play Vanderbilt the past few years - he seems to be involved in lots of plays, so that's good.

There is no way the Titans would be interested in Rudi. They have a trio of RBs that are solid, and I think they're willing to let Brown walk. They have White, and seem to be pretty happy with him from what I hear (I'm in Nashville, BTW)

Only picks I really like are Okam and Davis and either could be gone at that point especially Davis (btw he wasn't an all american he was honorable mention all big 10). Cambell is a reach though the risk could pay off and Brinkley got another year of eligibility so he's not in the draft. I also like Wallace, but I think we might be able to get him a round later. Silva is a big reach, he's a late rounder.

That was also two weeks ago, and I have been leaning left and right trying to put a lot of combinations right now together to see who can rise up, who will fall down ect. When the combines come, then you will proabbly get the most accurate mock draft. Period.

I am not sold on Okam at all. Some of the things that make me shudder are "inconsistant" and "high pad level". We already had a guy like that in Mathias Askew. I don't want to spend a second rounder or late 1st rounder on a guy that can't play at a consistant high level.

For the reports at the Shrine Game, one day he looks good, the next day he looks terrible.

I would rather take a guy with a little less talent and a higher motor than a guy who plays when they want to and disappears for stretches.

In my mind I picture Tim Krumrie vs. Alfred Williams.

Askew was no threat. RBs could block him, one of Marvin's worst picks ever. Okam is nowhere near the level of Askew. He's got the body to help compliment a DL. He's most likely going to take up 2 gaps and help let the rest of the D run around to make the play. I'm hoping that we can land Okam.

I think Okam would be good pick up but I think he will be a first rounder. That could change though before draft. I think Woodyard might have to go to safety in the pros. But he could be good as a backup safety in the Bengals mix. I think the Georgia G/C Fernando Velsaca might be good for us to look at. He would add good versatility and depth to O-line core. I like Brinkley but I also think he might go undrafted because of injuries.

Overall a very solid mock.
