First and foremost I would like to congratulate Megan on this outstanding accomplishment.

Meg is one of the very first people I met on this Message Board, and certainly one of the very first young ladies I have met that were truly passionate about the Bengals. In the early going I would run into Meg at quite a few events planned through this site, the now defunct BengalsWorld, and just from some mutual friends. She would always be sporting her Bengals gear (usually a Chris Perry jersey. Ha). Stadium Tours, Tailgate parties, Draft day parties….etc. Meg was not afraid (or at least not too much) to come and hang out and mix it up with the fellas.

http://i321.photobucket.com/albums/nn376/TheBengalThing/PBS%20TOUR/47b8d622b3127cce9854853e17c00000004.jpg

One of the first times I met Meg, I think she was a little worried about meeting a bunch of crazy strangers.....one of whom who wears a Halloween costume to Bengals games, ha.....so she brought her Mom…. Who was also SUPER COOL:

http://i321.photobucket.com/albums/nn376/TheBengalThing/Bengals%20Vs%20Titans%202007/IMG_2400.jpg?t=1337821902

I know that this site can be a madhouse sometimes and often time’s people do not consider it “real”, but just a keyboard, monitor, and words. Meg is one of those wonderful individuals that weren’t going to just sit back and chat…. She got out there and made it real. I have met a lot of great folks through this site and Meg is certainly one of those.

Through the years I have really seen Meg grow up, from hearing about all her studies and GRADUATION, too spending a day with Goeff Hobson and doing a great write up on the experience (http://boards.bengals.com/showthread.php?t=45716), it has been great to see her follow the path that she chose. It was obvious, in her posting, to see her other interests/passions surface and flourish. Her studies and expertise made for some pretty epic discussions where occasionally she had to LAY DOWN THE LAW so to speak. Needless to say … this board and Bengals fans EVERYWHERE are lucky to have a fan like Meg!!!!!

One of Meg’s guest columnist articles: http://www.bengals.com/news/article-1/Keeping-the-faith/81f13d77-e3b7-433c-8cb6-f97d19d10909

While this is a great way to recognize Meg and her contributions to this site…. It will certainly only be one of many that Meg will receive as she continues to share her interests and passions with the world.

Congrats MEG!!!!!

Congratz Meg. BT doesn't overstate your awesomeness at all. You're not just a great Bengals fan but a supreme Reds fan as well, and I respect that a lot. The tri-state couldn't ask for better representation as a fan, a student and just a cool person in general.

You guys rock :)

Mike: thank you so much for your introduction. Have to admit- I was a little worried when you told me that you included a picture of my mom.. but that was great and left me a little speechless and truly touched :smirk:

I stumbled upon this board looking for Bengals tickets, which I found, and shortly after met the Bengal thing, among some others (Turk, Brewcrew girl, Ignore me, & Southern stripes- and then Big John and the Bengal Bomb Squad). What I assumed would be a one time to stop for tickets, has turned into an almost 6 year relationship. Thanks to this board, I've got to do some pretty amazing things and meet some even more amazing people- people who will be a part of my life for hopefully a very long time.

I don't know what I'd do without this board. Being a female sports fan (I'm sure Trina, Kelli, and the others can relate) sometimes it's hard to find people to talk about sports with. My girlfriends can only take so much of "Omg cute shoes... did you guys see Votto's bomb last night?" Because, unless I made them watch it, they did not see it and they do not care. Also, I seem to have an affinity for dating guys who are not Reds or Bengals fans, which is exhausting . But here, I know someone cares just as much as I do that Votto will be a Red for 10 years, or that the Bengals signed some stellar defensive players in the draft.

I would have been content with just being nominated to be in the HOF, actually being inducted feels pretty great. So to wrap this speech up, which I will undoubtedly copy when I win an ESPY, thank you and team Chris Perry for life.

One of my favorite things is to watch Meg debate. Whether it's social issues or if Joey Votto is really Vottoworthy, Meg always speaks in her own voice. Congratulations.

Bonus, she may have the hottest mom of any board member. Mellow

This is a key factor when estimating what kind of shelf life a given young lady is working with.:ninja:.

Here is a little known fact about Meg's background that I hope she does not mind me sharing with you all.

MEG signals were first measured by University of Illinois physicist David Cohen in 1968, before the availability of the superconducting quantum interference devices (SQUIDs), using a copper induction coil as the detector.

Congrats Meg.

Meg, I've had trouble writing this since you're just too awesome for words. How many people do I know who've written a guest article on Bengals.com? Keep posting as much as possible before your success irl doesn't leave you much time for the site anymore. That day is inevitable, since it's only a matter of time before the rest of the world recognizes your awesomeness and realizes it can't be contained by a mere message board.

How about this for the Joey Votto smiley?
