What a stupid thing to say.
All these Bengal fans roaming about unsupervised answer a question: What is different about the Bengals this season vs last season? Plamer isn't hurt? Anything else? I still see y'all complaining about the play calling...even when the Bengals win. I still see threads calling for this player or that player to be let go. The cliche goes that the NFL is a game of inches. This season the bounces and the breaks have gone to the Bengals. (Except in the Bronco's game which just illustrates my point that anything can happen.) So the past *is* important! If the past didn't matter then people would expect the Lions or Browns to have a chance every year! Nay, I say the past prepares us for what to expect in the now and in the future! There will always be exceptions, such is the nature of things, but trends are noted for a reason...they are indications of what will happen! That doesn't mean you can, or shouldn't enjoy the now! The now is a great time for Bengal fans! I am actually happy for Bengal fans! Seriously! After being on this board for four years I feel like some of you are borthers. That's why I don't take the smacking too seriously. Its no worse then anything good friends wouldn't rag on each other about. So the Bengals winning, while it comes at the expense of the Steelers, still makes me feel good for you. But this is one year. They need to prove that somehow management is now making good decision, that the play calling is consistant and that the players can maintain this level of play over the long haul. And no matter how many times someone types "the past doesn't matter" it still does. The past is important.

The past matters if there are consistents ie Brown and Rooney. If there are no important consistents, then it's irrelevant as far as a predictor.

I agree 100% !! I think that the only reason we are not 10-1 or atleast 9-2 is because of some 4th quarter fluke turnovers that I hope have been adressed. If we are 10-1 there is not a fan who could say boo. But because we are 8-3 fans are questioning the play calling, player selections and everything else under the sun !! I am just pumped that we are in first place and giving our great city, the Fans and this Franchise a chance to win the Title Game. I will take a Solid Defense and Dual Running attack offense every year come playoff time !! Go Cats Go !!

Although having Carson Palmer at QB, whether he is performing well or not, does tend to help open up the running game. |

I know youre referencing how Roethlisberger, for years, handed off, and many here said he was average, or worse. However, Palmer has already put the numbers up. |

There are A LOT of differences between this year and last year. Eric Ghiachuic is a huge change.

I actually happened to sit next to John Thornton on a plane two weeks ago. Ghiachuic is one of the names I brought up in the differences with the team this year. He said EG didn't have the mental side of it. He felt huge expectations in replacing Braham. He couldn't handle criticism from the coaches. Then once the players basically chimed in it was all downhill from there. He said that's the only difference between EG and Kyle Cook. I think that was his nice way of saying EG su cked.

You don't get paid millions just so you can go out every Sunday and plop a big stinky on the field, the expectations were pretty normal I think, and you are probably right he was just being professional in saying he stunk.
