I know it is a common meme: the criminal Bengals. However, sometimes it a bit superfluous. Webster played one year here, he spent 3 in Denver and 4 years in Tampa Bay. It may have happened while he was with the team, but he spent much more time as a Bronco and a Buc. However, in the headline Nate Webster is "ex-Bengal Webster".

Unfortunately the Bengals have earned their stripes over the years by drafting risky players and signing players who other teams gave up on because of issues. Bad PR is one of the things that you have to deal with when you go that route.

Webster played for Tampa Bay from 2000-03 and for the Bengals in 2004-05. He finished his career with Denver from 2006-08.

Thus the reason they're calling him a "former Bengal" and not a "current Bengal"....any you're right, the team should not be expected to control each player completely. They should be held accountable for the questionable people that they bring in to play for them though.

To you and all Denny's and Bengal Bob's....if you are gonna be a fan lets break down roster, picks, FA,schedule and what ever related to FOOTBALL. Not if Linda Cohn or Mel Kiper likes your Bengals.....because they don't care they want to talk about hot buttons and LARGE market teams

You can put a positve or negative spin on things and that is cool but please do a couple of things

1. Understand how the business of the NFL works, sked, FA, contracts, roster limits, etc.

2. The Bengals have done nothing to deserve positve national press in the last 20 years......NOTHING. media doesn't work that way

3. Understand that Bengal fans are in the MINIORITY.

Do those three things and I can guarantee you the next 45 years............yep 45 years.....will be something tolerable
