It's called "bad economy".

It's the same reason Detroit, Jacksonville, Buffalo don't sell out. I'd say Buffalo has a pretty loyal fan base.

I don't think anyone's questioning the small size of the fan base, or the loyalty. It's just that a lot of people here are having trouble with their finances lately. I know I'd go to every game if I could, but I'm a poor college kid who lives in Columbus.

Actually this could be incorrect. The reason being is the two that sold out ahead of time was the Bears and Steelers. Both of these teams are relatively close to Cincinnati and have traveling fans. There were many more Steeler and Bear fans at the game then there were Texan and Bronco fans. (I will guess the same will be true for Ravens fans as well)

Just for one person to go by themselves the cheapest ticket plus nachos and a soda plus parking is gonna end up running you more than $100. A lot of people just flat out can't afford that right now, others would rather save their money in case they end up in the unemployment line next.
I seem to remember bengals fans around here poking smack at the city of pittsburgh on various things, most frequently; unemployment and education.

Good call. Always be prepared with an excuse.

Well yea, but in jest for the most part. I'm speaking only to the reasons behind why the Bengals are having trouble selling out this year in spite of a winning team. In reality, the unemployment and crappy economy the nation over is very unfortunate and any jokes made about Pittsburgh folks being bums etc. is only for a cheap and abstract I might add, interwebz laugh. No one's going to laugh about the real life situation of a lack of work that many are now faced with, regardless of where they're from.

What are the waiting for, the 1st play-off win?

We just know that when things are going well, some type of cheap shot is bound to come our way

I think it will be a tough one. I want the Bengals to win. We play Baltimore later in the year in Lambeau and that has Loss written all over it for us. At least the Bengals can beat good quality teams.

The Bengals will win on Sunday because:

1) They are good

2) They have to win this one so they can sweep these next two games and shock the NFL world thus restoring a degree of the proper respect this franchise deserves.

Mark Schlereth picked the Ravens to win because they're angry.

OH NO, THE RAVENS ARE MAD.

They got a tough defense but I dont think it's as good as it was before. Cincy plays alot better on the road then they do at home so it will be close I think, maybe another 17-14 battle.

Also another thing to point out as well since we are on this subject is that both the Bengals losses this season have been 1 o clock games at home, while their other two home games they have played this year and won against the Steelers and Bears were played at 4 o clock,,,And what do you know the Bengals play the Ravens at 1 o clock this Sunday so I guess you can add that to list of reasons why the Bengals are going to lose as well...

I agree with what is said here.... and its the same point I raise when people bring this up.

I think the Ravens will win not because they could be mad or anything.

I think the bengals have surprised people and from now on teams will be playing the bengals real tough. I could see this game going either way but I give the edge to the Ravens because it's hard to sweep a division opponent, specially when theyre as tough as the ravens or steelers.

PS - Chad ocho sent the ravens deodorant this week. That is clearly telling them they stink. And, If I were a reciever going against one of the most physical defenses in the league, that when they're highly motivated is possibly the toughest defense to play against...I wouldn't be giving them any more motivation.
I believe it's hilarious and I laughed quite hard when I heard it on NFL total access. But, this was a dumb move against the baltimore defense. Hope Rayray doesnt break Chads shoulder.

While this is funny and entertaining I still think it's a dumb move by Ocho Cinco. The Ravens want payback in this game big time and they dont need Ocho Cinco giving them anymore motivation. This is part of the reason the Bengals as a franchise and a team still havent taken the next step and know how to win and handle success. You just do not do stuff like this. Keep your mouth shut and do your talking on the field and be professional about how you go about things...

Doing that to the Patriots might be dumb. But to a team that has hurt it's chances to win games with unsportsmanlike penalties twice already this year, including against the Bengals, I view it as a shrewd and clever play. Ballsy too, but still, not an entirely useless tact to take with a team that has proven itself capable of letting their emotions get the best of them.

They have to win the division because that is probably the only history left to be made. Be a great trivia question in the future. Which team Swept their Division and never even got a wild card for the playoffs.

Answer: 2009 Cincinnati Bengals, 6-0 in the northern division, but finished the season at 8-8

No doubt a tough one to win for the Bengals. The losses are both at home, go figure. I hope the beatdown the Ravens put on Denver has satisfied some of that anger. I do not see Benson going over 100 yards, but Carson is no Orton and the Ravens DB's can't contain Chad and Henry. I hope it's enough.

The Pirates are kind of a bad example though, as there are more than economic factors ruining their attendance.

No doubt, it also has to do with Major League Baseball being a joke.
