While I agree that Woodley is an idiot, he doesn't go around yelling "six rings". That's on you. You guys have built up your mental images of Steeler fans to such mythical proportions that there are about ten times as many Bengal fans here who complain about that than there are occurrences of Steeler fans actually doing it.

You mean you never heard Lions fans brag about that 1957 NFL Championship? It's not an actual Super Bowl, but it's more than enough to keep them warm all hours of the day.

Yup... Homeboy is an idiot. And I agree with you. I watched the Bengals and Steelers 1st game this past season at a bar in Mechanicsburg, Pa. (the one that is close to Harrisburg). I was there for work, and had to go to a bar to catch the game. Needless to say the joint was full of of Steeler fans. Every single one of them was cool!!! My wife and I were sporting Bengals gear, and it took everyone awhile to notice. They started messing with us, but it was all lighthearted. Nobody yelled 6 rings... People bought us drinks... We laughed...We talked ****. They were really interested to know that that was the 1st game to not be blacked out because they had bought all of the tickets.

I hate the Steelers... but...

I will give Steelers fans this much... I know that we couldn't have walked into a bar in Cleveland, and been treated that way.

Actually, they're pretty much all pretty insufferable. Just as 1 in 100 Steelers fans are jerk-offs, 1 in 100 Browns fans are actually intelligent enough to have an actual football discussion with. I remember when they thought Colt McCoy (WINNINGEST QB IN NCAA HISTORY as it was yelled into my ear) was going to turn that franchise around. In 2 years (with 'easier' schedules than the Bengals in that span), McCoy has only mustered as many wins as Dalton did this past year.

Of course, throwing that in their face tends to make them violent - best to use small words and smile and nod a lot.

Fans of most teams, in my experience, tend to be cool. The ones who are goobs are the ones who tend to just be fans of whoever is the most likely to win. The guy with a closet full of Steelers and Pats jerseys.

The Browns should have the highest salary cap of any team ever. Just sign all the players and coaches to a one year minimum salary and call it good. They may not even make it a year.

The Ravens and Steelers are where players go that want to get tough (Please leave out the bathroom and murder jokes here, they are way over used)

The Bengals used to be where players went who were dying, but I think they finally get it.

The Browns are where players go when they are dead.

Yes but saying 6 Rings and just constantly referring to the amount of titles or lack of titles a team has is the same thing in my book. Like I said, all it take is one, and there is always one fool that does that. You use this board as some kind of reference point. I work in Western PA. I can assure you that about 1 out of every 3 fans I come across mentions this. If the Steelers have a bad game guess what they say? Steelers lose? You guessed it. You act like I am fabricating these things. Now on this board, we have 2 ends of the spectrum.

You just don't get it do you? Sure the people in Pittsburgh love the Steelers. Just take a look at what the Rooney's, Chuck Noll, Franco Harris, Rocky Blier, Charlie Batch, and others have done for this city.
Yeah you are going to say all players and coaches do that. The difference is most only do it because they feel it is necessary, with Steeler players it is genuine, they respect the city as much as the city respects them. Stay out of Steeler bars and this number probaly goes way down.

I'm not denying them happiness. If that's would they need to keep them warm at night, then they should be proud that their favorite team won the NFL Championship in 1957. Although I never heard a Lions fan brag about that 1957 win, so I think any potential sleep problems they have are non-football related.
