People might like the image of the mafia, but never the actual murders of the mob. Teams can call themselves "Pirates", but never really like true Pirates, whether it be Pirates of today or yesteryear.
Speaking of Harrison, recall the stir after he said something to the effect that "he wants to hurt people"...

Imagine all the panties in knots if he would have said something like this:

"...you got an angle on him, he should go to the hospital, and that is exactly what I tried to do..
.no remorse in my heart, I tried to put him in the hospital every time I tried to tackle him...
so every time he came over I tried to tear his damn head off"

Some hypocrites or whiny babies will have an issue of you pointing this out. But the fact remains football is a violent sport and we have some wussies here on this website who would prefer flag football

Would I be considered "whiny" if I admitted to sneaking in a few moments of the "Lingerie Football League" games?

Funny how back in the day when a cleveland clown named Turkey Jones picked up Terry Bradshaw and planted him into the turf head first, no Steeler fan whined about it because they realized it was a violent sport ....but when Harrison clocked Colt McCoy, the entire nation of clown fans cried and whined like the sissies that they are.

Goodell would have banned him from the league had he made those comments, hell if Hines Ward made those comments he may have been banned as well. Don't misunderstand me, I am just trying to find some logic in Goodell's reasoning. Here is something else to think about. Goodell was born in 1959, by the 70's when Jack Tatum, and lambert and all the other big hitters from that time were playing, I wonder what he thought about those guys? The Raiders were known for putting on big hits.

With all due respect bengalyankee, you left one part of this equation out, and that is consistency. One player will get suspended for 4 games and be fined 50,000 and another player will do the same thing and only get a 25,000 dollar fine. It's not only hypocrisy it is favoritism..
