I would rather see the Bengals reinforce other places though, as the safety class is very weak and there's much more value to be had in the draft upgrading other areas.

Exactly, that's why I really hope we sign one of the few out there that are left that could presumable be somewhat of an upgrade over what Crocker was even though that probably still equates to mediocre production.....Having that to fall back on beats the krap outta hoping Sands or Mays can do it and then ending up with an unmitigated disaster at the position on our hands.

Really, I think we would be asking, almost begging, for just such a thing to happen if we go into this season counting on either a fifth rounder that's done squadoosh in this league or a guy who got hot potato'd out of SanFran for a mere seventh rounder a year after they spent a second or third rounder on him, can't remember which it was.

I'm not opposed to this. Cincy has solid run support from its corners, and it'll get even better if they take Kirkpatrick or Gilmore. Thats really nice to have, but they need coverage from both safety spots if guys are going to take chances or don't have closing speed. I still think they move someone to safety, but Atogwe has a set of hands and coverage skills that would be welcomed.
