I hope we take him if he falls to us. Him and AJ would be a great 1/2 combo

I have a Bengals helmet hanging in my office and this guy came in and saw it and said oh my son just did a private workout for them. His son's name was Justin Hilton and he played WR for Indiana State. He played two years of JUCCO at Butte with Aaron Rodgers little brother Jordan as his QB. The guy said he is rated as 6th or 7th rounder but is gaining steam with his 4.4 fourty time and had a big write up as the 2nd biggest sleeper in the draft. I will try to do some more research on him but don't know I am at work and all. Said he also worked out for the Colts(he said they showed alot of interest), Bears, and is working out for the Steelers today.

Yeah, his stock is dropping - but he was a beast all year against great competition.

I'm thinking Marvin's 1 & 2 goals for the draft are pass rusher and #2 receiver. But he's positioned to take the BPA.

We should come out with some really good players in the first 2 rounds regardless of who drops to us.

Bengals hosting local draft prospects either from the high schools or UC mainly.

Quote:
The Bengals on Tuesday hosted 24 draft-eligible players at the clubís annual local players workout at Paul Brown Stadium.
NFL teams are permitted to hold the workout for players who played their high school and/or college careers in the teamís metro area. Here is the list of players, followed by their college and by their high school, if local:
--OL Chandler Burden, Kentucky (La Salle HS)
--TE Garrett Celek, Michigan State (La Salle HS)
--WR Chedrick Cherry, California-Pa. (Moeller HS)
--TE Josh Chichester, Louisville (Lakota West HS)
--QB Zach Collaros, Cincinnati
--LS Tom DeTemple, Cincinnati (Moeller HS)
--CB Reuben Haley, Cincinnati (Mt. Healthy HS)
--DE Steve Hancock, Cincinnati
--WR Tomaz Hilton, Cincinnati
--LB Jamar Howard, Central Missouri State (Withrow HS)
--DT John Hughes, Cincinnati
--DE/LB Grant Hunter, Butler (Lakota West HS)
--LB Luke Kuechly, Boston College (St. Xavier HS)
--DE/LB Ben Martin, Tennessee (La Salle HS)
--C Randy Martinez, Cincinnati
--S Patrick McClellan, Eastern Kentucky (Moeller HS)
--WR Devier Posey, Ohio State (La Salle HS)
--S Wesley Richardson, Cincinnati
--LB J.K. Schaffer, Cincinnati (La Salle HS)
--DE Monte Taylor, Cincinnati
--DE Stephen Trigg, Cincinnati
--WR Stan Warrenhuffman, Campbellsville (Mt. Healthy HS)
--WR Orion Woodward, Cincinnati
--WR D.J. Woods, Cincinnati

Last week the Bengals worked out Cincinnati running back Isaiah Pead when he had another visit that conflicted with Tuesday's workout.

I doubt he needs a visit. He's the best available player at a position of need, and the Bengals better take him. At least I'm hoping they take him at 17 if he's there.

J.K. Schaffer might be a nice late round pick up.

Would love to see the Bengals give Brian Banks a workout, this kid has a great attitude and the Bengals are all about second chances!

Getting close to that time of the year again, but whats funny in looking back is the first guy that was mentioned as a visit.

WR Austin to meet, work out for five teams

West Virginia WR Tavon Austin will meet and/or work out for a total of five teams in the coming week.
Austin will be working out with the Baltimore Ravens, Carolina Panthers and New England Patriots. He'll also be meeting with the Cincinnati Bengals and Miami Dolphins. If this is any indication of Austin's stock, it seems that it greatly varies from team to team based off of where the interested teams select. Austin has the potential to be a dynamic slot receiver and weapon on in the backfield and special teams.

I'm hoping that we don't go near Austin.

We already have our small guy in Hawkins, plus we don't even have a need at receiver and we could knock out the few needs in the first two rounds.

This is interesting. If they grade him out as the BPA when 21 comes up you still need a plan for him. I wrote him off as a Cincy pick as he isn't big enough to play on the outside, but if they felt that he has enough talent to take and play Sanu there then its possible. He is tougher than you would think, and his 9 1/8" hands are actually bigger than Patterson's. If they pay enough attention to defense with the rest of free agency and a big time back 7 defender isn't on the board, Gruden may get his wish of a playmaker.
