How do I delete a previous post?

Click Edit and then Delete. (Edit is in the bottom right of your post.)

You can delete it altogether? I thought you could only edit the thing...

That's what it looked like to me too. I didn't see anything that said "delete"

Yes you can delete. At the bottom right corner of the text box from the edit menu.
