Ludwick made the cardinal sin of missing the cutoff guy by THROWING BEHIND THE RUNNER!!! Hence the guy getting to 3B. Then another pathetic throw takes our 2-0 lead and makes it 2-3 in favor of Houston.

Luckily, Marshall came in and stranded the insurance run and we made a great comeback. Ugly game, but these boys have heart.

Both STL & PIT continue to win, as well. Luckily we're still going strong and maintain a decent lead!!! LET'S GO REDS!!!
I was watching on gamecast and I was wondering how a double with one guy on base could plate two. Then I saw the double error. Ugh. I came back about 10 minutes later to see they had taken the lead. Excellent comeback the last two nights, I dont care who it was against.

How about drew stubbs lately? Streaky hitter on a hot streak or is he finally figiring a couple things out? Im guessing he will cool off and go back to the way he was but its nice to see for now.

Please Please Please let coredero get traded to the pirates

Speaking of Cordero , why does Chapman seem to think he needs to revert back to throwing heat when he has other nasty pitches than require less speed?

Because it's the pitch he can throw with both the best control, and with the most confidence. A good fastball is still and will always be the best pitch in baseball.

I take back every negative thing I've ever said about Stubbs...

For now...

Am I the only one who felt strangely confident once Coco came into the game? And if that ball that Stubbs hit was 3 feet to the right, it also would've been gone.

You're not the only one, I don't know what I'd call it more of, Stubbs heroics or typical Cordero? he was inconsistent at times with the Reds but he was never as bad as he's been this season (his worst season with the Reds was a 3.84 era, he's at 6.87 this year with a 1.90 whip) and it seems like his career expired right when his contract with the Reds did

hopefully he gets his game back when the Astros have the Pirates for 4 this weekend or else the Reds wont be gaining any ground on the Pirates

How bout those Redlegs last night! Bronson pitched fantastic, Alfredo Simon was lights out again, and you can never say enough about Aroldis. The dude is just filthy. 11 pitches, 3 strikeouts.

Maybe the Yankees will lose today and the Reds will win to be tied for the best record in baseball.

Am I the only person that really wants Denard Span but believes the Reds would have to give up a lot to get him? (i.e Billy Hamilton and Cingrani)

Hamilton imo is untouchable but some of the young pitching might land Span.

Nobody should ever be untouchable. Anyone can be dealt for the right price. And I think billy hamilton is excellent trade bait right now. From what I read, he is an error making machine in the field though but potential trade partners are gonna overlook that because of his SB numbers and his OBP and batting average.

This team may never lose! Too bad the Pirates won't lose either. Big series coming up at GABP this weekend vs Pittsburgh. Gonna be bananas.

The lack of coverage blows me away. Best record in baseball without your star player, a potential ROY, A closer who is making major league hitters look like little league guys, ( wait a minute, little league players could probably hit Chapman, because their 70mph pitch is equivalent to a 100mph fastball when you consider mound distance and such...Yeah right.) Anyway.
It ticks me off how I can watch a hour of ESPN and they can't get through the Reds fast enough to get to the below .500 red Sox. I understand why before anyone says it, but had to vent.

I hope we do not trade that guy!

agreed, there is not way we trade Billy. switch hitter hitting .323 on the season 11 triples, 20 doubles, 115 stolen bases, stolen base success rate of 82%. (*as of July 29)

And the Reds win AGAIN!

Man.....this team is fantastic. Mr Castellini and Walt Jocketty really have changed the atmosphere surrounding the Reds. I wish I could thank them personally. Dusty also deserves some credit. He's doing a great job. No one is perfect.

10 in a row!!!! Wow, the last time that happened was 1999. Which IMO was one of the most exciting seasons ever for me. Mainly because they really werent expected to do a whole lot that season

Agreed. I still have a place in my heart for those players and coaches on the 1999 team.

More importantly this is 10 in a row without Joey Votto, everyone is anticipating the trade deadline and I'm a firm believer of don't fix what isn't broke, I dont think the team should do a thing unless they're giving up lesser players but at this point I'd be opposed to giving up anything significant to the future or any of the regulars right now

I was listening to a podcast today and the Reds are supposedly looking at a S.P./R.P. named Franklin Morales from the Red Sox , he's like 2-2 / 3.34 era/60 s.o.'s /19wlks/56 inn.

Hopefully the asking price isn't anything that alters the current roster significantly or alters the future

No players were mentioned as to we might trade if we decide to , this guy is only 26 and scouts say he has nasty stuff, he also has pitched in the W.S. at 23.
