Post Who makes the cut on our secondary?

Ok with all the injuries that I have heard about this is how I am exspecting our secondary to look on opening day. Since Prater is now gone for the year and Ghee most likely starting on the PUP list this is how I have it.
CB's
1 Hall
2 Clements
3 Kirkpatrick
4 Jones
5 Allen
6 Newman

Its kinda what I exspected to begin with but changing Ghee with Newman. As for safteys I believe its alittle easier. From everything I have read Sands is the odd man out unless he sticks as a special teamer.

1 Nelson
2 Mays
3 Miles
4 IIoka

We all know that Nelson is our starting FS. I think that Mays will be our starting SS with Miles backing up Mays and IIoka backing up Nelson.Let me know what you guys think and I would love feedback wether negative or positive. After I do alittle more reading I will look forward to guestimating other position groups in the future.

PUP isnt an option. Only the new IR rule would be. Where each team is allowed to return 1 player from the injured reserve list. After a player practices once in training camp they are not eligible for PUP. Like with Antonio Bryant practicing on the first day of training camp and getting hurt, there was no PUP we had to put him on IR.

Pat Sims is the only guy we have who could be PUPed now since Nugent, Shipley, and Clements have all practiced.

I'm not a fan of losing Sands, but I think you might have it right.

If Zimmer likes what he sees in him and what he can offer the defense, I am all for him being here. But we will all know more in the next few weeks.

Unless Newman is looking awful, I don't see Ghee replacing him or anyone on my list above for that matter.

I think Newman stays Ghee will be out for the season. He will probably have to be the one cut. Nothing out of Ghee for three years can't wait for him.

He's really only here because he played under Zim in Dallas, same reason we brought in Roy Williams. Zimmer thought he could get Roy back to an elite level, he was wrong. Newman was just plain bad last year. I suppose we could keep him for depth, but I'd prefer he sees as little PT as possible. IMO the order(if we keep Newman) should be:

LCB Jason Allen/Leon Hall
RCB Leon Hall/Jason Allen
NCB Nate Clements/Pacman
DCB Pacman/Dre Kirk
Reserve Newman

The question is, who is going to be healthy in the secondary ? It's no need for great concern yet, and I hope it is a non factor come regular season. I look for us to be a little short Thursaday and a good chance for long shots to get playing time and impress some coaches.

Possible they may only carry 3 safeties if they have some CBs that can also play safety. I'ld rather see a good CB kept than a would be 4th safety. Of course a DB will probably get kept on the reserve list.
