Default T.O. a Seahawk?

The Seahawks just dumped Antonio Bryant. Now T.O. is reportedly on a flight to Seattle to possibly sign with the Seahawks. It would be the 2nd time T.0. would be replacing Antonio Bryant. You can't make this stuff up. That said, I think I'm actually rooting for him to make their team. I thought T.O. was a likeable guy here and played really well despite what some say.

If they give him a 'performance based' contract, it will end the same way it did for him here, and Seattle may have to draft a new rookie QB and WR in the first two rounds...other than that, it's Seattle, so....yeah.

Yeah the market can't be very big for a 38 year old WR with a checkered locker room history coming off an ACL injury. I bet T.0. is just thrilled the phone rang.

Apparently he ran a forty in the 4.4 range at the Seahawks workout. Now it's rumored that several teams may be interested.

Sidney Rice. Other than him it's just "potential". Doug Baldwin and Golden Tate are the only other respectable receivers on the team. Wait don't they have Braylon Edwards too?

Edwards will probably be cut now.

If Edwards gets cut for a 40 year old T.O. he should retire.

T.O and Moss in the same division now the NFC West actually has some zest to it. Seattle still needs a QB though.

T.O. is a future HOFer though. It's not like he's some chump. He may be 38, but dude is a physical freak that doesn't age. Just like how Jerry Rice was still playing at a high level at 41.

T.O. at 36 put up 983 yards and 9 scores in pretty much 13 games. He can ball.

I'll go out on a limb and say that I think he's going to have a pretty respectable season. If he's running like they say he is and there's no other receiving threat on that team, there' s potential there. Unlike Ocho, I've never seen a big on-field decline with TO. He was very good when he was here. The injury and his reputation were the only things stopping him.

I hope he does well and will take a late round shot at him in fantasy.

Carson actually called Pete Carroll and recommended TO. There goes the theory that TO was a chemistry wrecker while he was here. Palmer still likes TO. Said he had a great work ethic in Cincy.

Yeah I saw that earlier today. I should have stuck up more for TO when he was here, but fans were just hellbent on putting the blame of that 4-12 year on him as opposed to the actual reasons we went on that 10 game losing skid.

Yup. I think a lot of people blamed TO because we really didn't change much else from 09-10. But if you look at that season that he was here, our defense slid to 15th, Benson had a terrible year, and Carson wasn't sharp. I think it was time for some guys to go (Carson, Chad and Benson) but it was silly to put so much blame on TO. He got here late. The problem wasn't him.

Thought that happened when they were chasing him for deadbeat dad payments?

I may be mistaken, but didn't he just stop payments a year ago? His child support rate was ridiculous. Like 150k a year. I would run a 4.42 to get away from that too.

We missed the boat (perhaps...hindsight is 20/20) by having a decent number 2WR in 2010 when we really needed one in 2009 and 2011, just a thought. If we could magically add TO's 2010 production in place of Coles and/or Simpson, I think we'd have actually won a playoff game.

But TO was here the year everything went wrong, our defense declined, Benson got fumbleitis, we were losing games in the final 2 minutes when we used to be winning them, we looked completely unworthy of a 1st place schedule, and so on. The schedule is the main cause of the 4-12 season, in my opinion. 2009 and 2011 we had winning seasons on the heels of 4th place schedules, we lucked out and had a winning season and landed in third place for this season. Call me a hater, but the fact is that the 2010 squad managed twice as many wins against teams that ended the season with winning records (Ravens and Chargers) than the 2011 squad did in 9 victories. So it goes.

Why do you have so little faith in Matt Flynn? I realize his production was part of the GB system, but he's got a decent head on his shoulders, talent, and the right attitude to be the best QB the Seahogs have had in quite a while.

not hard to be better than T Jack...

Matt Flynn had 1 good game on a superbowl quality team. (it was a really good game)

He could do well but seattle isnt nearly the team GB was even when everyone gets healthy.
And TO will make those rookie growing pains very painful

All that and the fact i continually forget Matt Flynn even exist let alone went to seattle.

I never said it was hard to be better than Turdvarous Jackson, and your awareness of Matt Flynn is completely irrelevant. Matt Flynn DID have the benefit of the system and a good team, but he also showed a modicum of skill of his own. If you think Kyle Boller or Todd Collins could have thrown 6 TDs in one game with the Packers last year (something a man named Aaron Rogers didn't even do) on a team fighting for it's playoff life, then I have some swampland in Florida to sell you.

Bottom line: Matt Flynn benefited from a good system BUT looks like he's apt to be pretty good on his own. Methinks your level of skepticism is a bit high, is all.
