What an actor.

Does anyone have what Bill Cowher thought about it or an absurdly vague quote from Tomlin?
Comparing a visible break and blood to a twisted ankle.

LOL.

I have no idea whats going on.

The point of the broken nose was that he didn't fake an injury, played the rest of the game and won

Was that not as obvious? Or, do you know lots of QBs that win games where their nose was exploded? Loved that no call for all the Steeler haters too.

So what you're saying is, it's not remotely possible that a guy can have his nose broken, finish the game and at some point in his career, milk another unrelated injury?

And you think it's not possible for Ben to be tough (like hundreds of other NFL players are) but still milk other "injuries" for sympathy or whatever?

I fully admit Ben has milked his injuries AFTER a game to a small degree. The media makes it 100 times worse than what he actually says but that's up to you to see that.

My point the entire time is that it doesn't matter in the context of him being tough on the field He always has been and will be a complete animal on the field. I can say that after what I've seen for years.

It's actually absurd to me that people would insinuate otherwise.

I'm pretty sure, in the past, i've spoken positively about Ben. And i'm equally sure that if this wasn't the Smack Forum, i wouldn't be going on about what a portly wimp he is, questioning his toughness.

Worship Ben? Lol. Now you're just projecting because you enjoy to take what ESPN says as the truth when that article had simple paraphrasing and no context.

Tomlin says his injuries have been the subject of inaccurate reports but there is absolutely no context for what he was saying. For all you know (and most likely), he's speaking about the media hype and not Ben. That answer is far from damning on Ben's behalf.

Tomlin routinely laughs at the media because he understands they're trying to stir up drama. Kinda like this past weekend.

And, from that article it states Ben said he broke his toes. Cowher said he reaggravated an injury. THIS IS WHAT MAKES NEWS?!?!? Semantics on a toe!!

I could find probably hundreds of quotes from his teammates and coaching staff with context telling you how much they respect and think how tough Ben is but you would simply dismiss it as something they "have" to say.

But, as soon as they paraphrase a vague comment or argue semantics on ESPN then all the sudden Ben is soft.

Quite hilarious.
Well, duh. He's the Steelers' starting QB,and I guarantee that you've watched far more Steelers' games over the last seven years than any other team. Guess what? I watched Andy Dalton take more hits last year than any other QB,so I guess that means he's uber-tough,too. After all,I saw him take more hits than any other QB in the entire league. College too,for that matter.

Because I'm sure Tomlin is going to publicly crucify his QB.

I find it funny that you brought up the WWF earlier in this thread. What do WWF wrestlers do? Cut interviews about made up injuries? Well,Ben's been busted for that. Here's another one. Remember how a pro wrestler will try to slam another guy and fail and clutch his back like he's been injured, but be perfectly fine the next minute? Remember back when Ben had his thumb problem and would grab it anytime he threw a pick? Or how he would seem fine on his ankle this year when he was playing well, but his limp would get a lot more pronounced after he threw a pick? Here's another great one for you. Remember how a wrestler would get carted out on a stretcher one week, then be back for revenge the next? Didn't Ben get stretchered off against the Browns a couple of years back and didn't miss a game?

Wrestlers pull gags like that because it builds drama and makes their accomplishments seem far more dramatic than they really are. So,I really don't want to hear about the MEDIA trying to create drama. Ben creates that for himself, with his 1980's Hulk Hogan dramatics. The pathetic thing is,you and a bunch of your Steeler bretheren lack either the intelligence or the objectivity to see through the act. You guys are like a bunch of 65 year old grandpa's yelling at their TV's during Monday Night Raw because they still think it's real, despite all the evidence to the contrary.

Yeah except it's a statical FACT that Ben has been hit more than any other QB in that time period so yeah...

But, don't let facts stand in the way of a terrible argument.

Yeah, he probably took a ride on a stretcher because he wanted to garner fame. THAT doesn't sound insane at all.

Actually, I've already said I could care less about whether he's "tough" or not. It's a rainy day and I really don't have anything else to do. I also think it's absurd when logic stares you in the face (most hits in the NFL while missing a hand full of games) yet you want to continually talk about him faking injuries.

Guy played with his nose sideways though I'm sure that was an act too...

I really only care about this guy going out and ballin' every week. Winning Superbowls.

Because, in the end, that's why you can't stand the guy.

Do you have any stats to back that up,or are you just making stuff up? In any case, saying you've watched the guy get hit more than any other QB in the league is completely different than saying there is statistical evidence that he gets hit more than any other QB in the league.

Cowher is a future HoF coach, and knew he could quit on his own terms whenever he wanted to. Tomlin isn't in that situation.

He obviously wasn't hurt that badly if he played the next week. Nice acting on his Mike Utely routine, though.

We talk about him faking injuries because he constantly talks in the media about injuries that either his club knows nothing about or are revealed to be nowhere near as serious as he claims and/or lets on on the field.

LOL,now we're reaching. How many NFL QB's have missed any kind of significant time in a game that matters with a broken nose? Nobody. That's how much of a Big Ben bootlicker you are. You hype the man for playing through the same kinds of injuries every other NFL starting QB plays through. Heck, there's sideline video out there of Mark Sanchez getting his broken nose readjusted against the Raiders, then going back in the game this year.

I don't dislike Ben Roethlisberger because he wins games or has won Super Bowls. I dislike him because he's been accussed of rape twice. I dislike him because Steeler fans overhype him to unbearable levels, and he's not as good as he's made out to be. I dislike him because he's a drama queen,a liar, and a waffler. Peyton Manning wins games and SB's,and I don't dislike him. I don't dislike Drew Brees,Eli Manning,or Aaron Rodgers, either. I dislike Tom Brady, however, for the sole reason that the Pats needed to cheat via Spygate to get it done. I dislike Ray Lewis because he's a murderer. However, that doesn't mean that I don't think that both are arguably the greatest ever to play their positions, either. My like or dislike of Ben has nothing to do with my belief that his toughness is overrated. The fact that you feel the need to bring that up only exposes your own flawed logic. You can't disassociate yourself from your fanboydom long enough to make an objective opinion on the topic, which renders your already weak arguments totally impotent.

Regardless, he could certainly talk a little less about injuries that apparently have no baring on his play.
Thats the point I was trying to make. There are other QB's in the past and present that have been/are just as big as Ben, but none ever played the game that was tougher. The adjective
"Big" that people always put in front of his name actually originated in college by the hordes of young ladies that he "entertained", if you know what I mean.
