It's about that time when NFL Draft fans start divulging information from NCAA games and find your favorite prospects, inside this thread we can discuss week to week game's/prospect's stats/draft stocks.

I would like to see them get the Honey Badger, Mathieu from LSU, he makes plays. The bengals will be desperate for secondary help in next years draft, IMO.

Then we should focus on guys who can cover.

I would hate that pick. I'd be happy with any of the top DE's next year. I think it's a great year to grab one early. Sam Montgomery, Corey Lemonier, Bjoern Werner, Barkevious Mingo all great options.

Wouldn't mind Latimore or Knile Davis either.

David Amerson

He had 13 INTs in 2011, so teams are sure to not throw his way often this coming season.

I honestly don't know much about upcoming prospects, but will be watching RBs and CBs closely.

Plus

Either one of these two DE's.

Then

as OLB.

Considering all 3 of our starting LBs are free agents, I thin at least 1 LB would be a draft priority.

Mathieu would be fine if used as a safety/nickel, putting him outside would be a problem. That being said, Eric Reid would be a better pick from the LSU secondary.

Montgomery and Mingo both need to add about 20 pounds before they play DE for an NFL team.

I'm not sure how well Mathieu's size will translate into an NLF DB. But I watched several LSU games last year, and when they needed a big play, he made it. I don't know if I would take him in 1, but if he's still there with our first 2, I'd be all over that. If nothing else he could be a game changing punt returner and a good slot CB.

IMO he is a FS. Think Earl Thomas IMO.

This is what I think as well.

If the Bengals are picking late in the first I would definately consider him because of the difference he can make on special teams.

I'd like a top RE, too.

Lattimore needs to prove his knee is healthy. I'd really like to see him come back 100%.

Knile Davis has had two ankle surgeries on the same ankle in...what?...3 years? I'm gun shy about how well he can hold up.

I'm ready for a GIANT running back, that has quick feet and great hands. My guy is flying under the radar right now, but once the season starts and he's racking up 200 yds a game, he's going to be getting a lot more attention. I think he's the next coming of Eddie George. I'd love the Bengals to take him at #32 next year

http://www.nfldraftscout.com/ratings...2014&genpos=RB

  • 6-2 237 lbs
  • 4.52 40 yds
  • Power
  • Speed
  • Agility
  • Hands

Some players I'll be watching...

DE Margus Hunt, SMU...CBS Draft Scouts have him over rated in my opinion right now. If his production matches the potential this year then I think he'll probably go in the 2nd round, possible the 1st.

P Brad Wing, LSU...yeah, a punter. He is a red shirt sophomore and could declare for the draft. Going into the SEC Championship game, teams averaged 21 inches per punt return against him. That's not a typo. Inches. He'll be drafted in the 3rd round. Like the Cajun Cook use to say, "I gar-un-tee."

OLB Cornelius Washington, UGA...he lines up as a DE in nickel situations, also. Type of player Marvin would convert to SAM. Another player who I think can work himself into the 3rd round.

RB Spencer Ware, LSU...Cincinnati kid. He doesn't have break away speed, but I love to watch him lower his shoulder on defensive backs. It's a thing of beauty. He is a North-South between the tackle runner who I think is harder to bring down than Lacy from Bama whom I think might be shiftier as well. We'll see...

S Ray Ray Armstrong, formerly Miami...dismissed from the team for rule violations. Anyone have a status up date on him?

Hopefully, someone emerges as the Bengals #2 WR and at SS this year. I'm curious what will happen with Andre Smith this year considering how negotiations went with his rookie contract. I'd hate to draft a replacement after he finally had a decent year in year 3.

If running back is still a problem:

http://www.cbssports.com/nfl/draft/b...braska-preview

i'd take Rex Burkhead

DE's:

Bjoern Werner -

Margus Hunt -

John Simon -

OLB's:

Jarvis Jones -

Brandon Jenkins -

I'd be happy with any of the above players.

Jarvis Jones is another really talented player I would like to see play for the Bengals, however the only problem is his injury history.

I don't want a LBer who had to transfer schools because his school flunked him on his physical and wouldn't allow him to play because the medical staff at USC thought his neck injury was career threatening.

I'm going to be interested to see how the NFL doctors view that injury. I can tell you that many USC fans have been upset at the schools medical staff because they are starting develop a reputation for refusing to clear players even when other doctors will. Last year they refused to play Armond Armstead because of an undisclosed medical condition and it left a lot of bad feelings between the Armstead family and USC. His brother Arik (a top recruit) was a long-time commit but decommited because of the situation. Armond attempted to go the NFL but was not drafted although I heard he was playing in the CFL over the summer in an attempt to put some recent tape out there for NFL scouts (so obviously he is not too injured to play)

I hope it works out for Jarvis because he is a beast.

My Favorite 5 Defensive Preseason Prospect's

1. Jarvis Jones - OLB - UGA
With Howard and Lawson here with one year contracts this could be the next Georgia player to put on a Bengals jersey.

2. Bjoern Werner - DE - FSU
Let's face it we have 1 pass rusher at the DE spot, we need to add another one and Werner is just an absolute beast.

3. Manti Te'o - ILB - Notre Dame
If Rey doesn't show that he can be the MLB of the future we should move forward, in attempt to find one. Te'o has a good motor and a nose for the football.

4. Tony Jefferson - S - Oklahoma
Other than Reggie Nelson we have no other safety worth putting on the field.

5. William Gholston - DE - Michigan State
Another pass rusher, he will face good offensive linemen all season and could potentially be a second round pick all the way to a top 15 pick.

Honorable Mentions; Alex Okafor, Sean Porter, Jackson Jeffcoat

Kenjon Barner from Oregon would be a good late pickup. Decent size and good speed with above average vision. Could be a very good special teamer as well.

He is a guy I have my eye on as a Bernard Scott replacement.

Nice list.

Keep an eye on Barrett Jones from Alabama. He should be playing C this year. He will have played OG, OT and C and he has already won an Outland Trophy. If we go interrior in the 1st, we would have a world class line for years to come.
