Default Honey Badger dropped from LSU

Wooooow.

If only they had done this a month or so ago, he could have entered the supplemental draft.

He may be the most overated player to come out in a long time. He will struggle to be more than a return specialist in the NFL. Teams grilled him in pass coverage last year. He forced a bunch of fumbles and had some huge games as a returner to make up for it.

Apparently it was his third strike for weed (1 time synthetic). LSU is pretty stacked at corner so it might not be as big of a blow as it seems, but for an undersized guy that has already struggled playing outside corner it could cost him a round or two.

This depends completely where a team puts him. He was great as a nickel, but struggled on the outside. As long as a team puts him at safety in base and then nickel when needed, he could be really good Assuming he is not suspended of course.

Well, considering that he has another year, before he's eligible for the draft, he has time to mend his dope smokin' ways.

Not true at all. If a team puts in him a FS role like an Earl Thomas type, he will excel completely.

Maybe he can team up with Ray Ray Armstrong and Michael Dyer to create a FCS super-dismissed team.

Edit: According to Bruce Feldman if this is for a third failed drug test, he can't transfer to another NCAA school. TM7 to NAIA!

That would be a leap for him since he hasn't shown that capability yet.

I think the logic behind it is he already has a knack for the big play and he is young enough he could still have time to get better in coverage

I think it takes him off the Bengals radar as a drafted player. They've taken fewer risks on character the last couple years, maybe Katie's doing, but they still show interest when there's little to no risk via free agency, see Burfict.

Sure, but most of his big plays came in return game or by forcing fumbles. His size would be a huge liability at safety.

I'd draft him solely as a return guy. Anything extra that he gives a team would be a bonus on top of that. He's probably the best return guy to come out since Hester.

He projects as a probowl safety in my opinion. early 2nd if the raiders tank could be an option.

Except that Burfict didn't have off the field concerns.

His best position in the NFL would probably be nickle CB as he looks way too small to be a safety. I don't buy that he is 5'9", he looks shorter than that.

Very good point. I mean, he is a good returner, but he really wasn't that good on defense.

He has a high ceiling, and can reach his potential with more practice and playing time, but he needs his head on straight.

Again, he was great in the slot and when he was allowed to roam, but struggled on the outside. Even then the only bad game he had was the second game against Alabama.

For anyone that cares, here is the story now.

-He won't play for anyone this season and won't be attending classes at LSU
-He is going to a rehab facility in Houston during the fall with plans to enroll at LSU for the spring semester (link to rehab part: http://www.fox8live.com/story/193006...tyrann-mathieu)
-He hopes to be able to rejoin the LSU football team next season

Could he go to a Div II school?

Looks like Feldman was just speculating, but TM7 isn't playing anywhere this year.

I absolutely agree Hammer. He would get eaten alive by big NFL receivers. It just goes to show how much stock exciting plays to some rather than quality.
