I would like to see Leonard get extended time with the first team just to see how he fairs in a bigger role

I wouldnt push him too much though
Like it or not Leonard is one of the most clutch players on the team

You will see him on the field for most third down attempts
There is obviously a reason why

Hes not a normal back
But he brings Alot more to the table than 1. Alot of other backs
And 2. Alot more than what most are willing to admit

He's not flashy
Flashy is over rated
Ask the saints, Reggie bush cough cough

Why? What do you think would occur?

i love it when people say that,,,"id like to see you call him so and so"

its not like you were insulting the man,,but hes prone to injury,,and not very good at just running the ball,,,hes a 3rd down specialist who catches out of the backfield and makes plays, nothing more nothing less. He himself probly knows hes "fragile" when it comes to injuries.

He did tear it up against Detroit last year, but I would hate to see him get hurt because of the reasons you list. He's been hurt quite a bit since being here. Why risk it? He's never going to be the #2 back. Peerman, on the other hand, has a shot at being that #2 guy over Scott. Let's see what he can do with our #1 OLine in the game against the Falcons' #1s on D.

Peerman starts for sure, I'd bring Brown in pretty early though. Herron would be in starting second half and let him grind out the rest of the game, see if he can get it going.

Leonard is vastly overrated by fans. He makes the occasional 3rd down receiving play out of the backfield that sometimes involves leaps over defenders. He is simply not starter material nor a number 2 back for that matter. Do I like him though, yes. Can he be replaced, yes. Has he had only ONE career touchdown in 5 years now, yes. Has he rushed over 100 yards in just only ONE season which was his rookie year, yes. (303 yards his rookie year with Rams, 237 yards in the next 4 years).

And I would take Reggie Bush a million times over Leonard.

I am guessing that this is Leonard's last year. I hope we draft one in the 1st 4 rounds next year with some wheels.

I hope so too, then again I was really hoping we would this past draft as well. For the record, I like him and I think he will have a couple or so big plays for us this year as he usually does. But due to his injury proneness while not seeing that many snaps, he can easily be replaced.

This week would give us a great chance to see what guys like Dan Herron and Aaron Brown can do at this level. Give them the chance!
To me, Peerman has earned this start. We know what we have in Leapin' Lenny.

And I agree--this week is big for Brown and Herron. Time for them to step up.

BTW, does anyone know if Scott will play in the pre-season? To me, the opp. is there for Brown or Herron to take Bernard's J-O-B.

My opinion, the west coast fits Leonard very well. Would love to see our FB with those talents also.

Gotta make decisions for Cut-Down Day... Peerman is a lock because of his multi-squad value and good development at RB (Future Rudy?). Run Aaron and Dan, so decisions can be made.
