Well going by the NFL statline the Falcon's first string offense got 97 yards in 18 plays for 3 points against our defensive starters. Of those plays 4 were runs netting 2 yards.
Our first string offense when it was in got 161 yards in 24 plays for 10 points. Of those we netted 17 yards for 8 run plays. |

We got torched for many big plays by 1st, 2nd, and 3rd string Falcons O.

Not actually true. Look at the game statline. The 1st string D did not get torched by the Falcon 1st string O.

Tackling all across the Bengals' defense is the best I've ever seen it. I did not see one "dive at the ankles" pathetic tackle all night. Even the third team defense did it right.

Re: Official Bengals @ Falcons preseason game thread
I'd like to see the brainiac who first suggested we'd cut a draft pick.
I've seen some suggest he go to the PS. Even before tonight, he wouldn't have lasted there. Too much skill and we clearly can use it. Marvin is gonna have a hard time deciding to keep 6 or 7.

Uh, we can't have a dominating punishing safety! Lost in this discussion is that the reason we saw Taylor Mays make lots of "overly hard" tackles is because was consistently in the right place to make them! Name anyone else on the Bengals' defense right now who gets to that ball carrier faster. You can't. He's everywhere on that field. |

My goals for this game was.
1. Keep Altanta under 18 points this game. They got 19, so great job D! Shout out to the Secondary for keeping Julio and Roddy out of the game for most of the night. Reggie was a beast! 2. To see some Dalton and Green Chemistry! They started out slow, but got into a grove. If AJ would of dragged his feet, could of been two TD for them. 3. Run game to get off. yeah, this was not happening tonight. Not sure how the Falcons ranked last year against the run, need to look that up. Our O- line struggled against those big Falcon Defense tackles, those were some big boys. The falcons are going to be a playoff team, so good job Bengals!

Thanks SS, that explains our Running woes last night, we were up against the #2 best Run Defense in the NFL.
