I can only assume the NFL is going to pass the savings along to us when they don't give into the real officials' demands and we end up watching poorly-officiated crap all year.

I know it will be a terrible idea..but I'm not surprised they haven't really discussed it prior to this. With technology now a days its only a matter of time before they replace humans with computers...or cameras!
How many occurrences happen each year where the ref is in the way... I'm sure the league has noted this down in their process to redefine the game. I wouldn't be surprised within the next couple decades that all refs have disappeared in favor of cameras, with plays being called up top... cameras would have angles that refs dont have...which is one plus.

please let the refs come back. Torrey Smith just caught the ball on the line and was tackled back 3 yards so they put the ball where he was tackled and not where the forward progress was.
