Default Bills to acquire QB Tarvaris Jackson from Seahawks

Is there a QB controversy brewing in Buffalo?

Fitz got the big contract and performed like a franchise QB until he cracked his ribs. Had the Bills off to a 5-2 start last year. He will be the starter. Although I have to wonder why they are accumulating starting caliber QBs. TJack and Vince Young are both outstanding backups.

I hate the Bengals complete disregard for the backup QB position. It really ****** me off. If Dalton is out for an extended period of time, we're totally screwed. And we don't even try to address it, we just leave a glaring hole at the backup QB spot. It's frustrating.

My Brother.....I totally agree 100%. I was watching the Lions game, and in the third quarter they brought in Kellen Moore. He has had more play time in the preseason then anyone of the QB's on the roster. He will be the number 2 and the Lions got him dirt cheap. Yea he had a few ball batted down and he didnt look like a starter at the moment, but he owned the no huddle and I see this kid improving every game. It bugs the crap out of that I have 0 faith in anyone behind Andy. If he leaves the game we WILL LOSE!! That absolutely stinks. We need a better #2... you think the Pats aren't set up if brady goes down? <catches breath> This is one area of our team that we are pitiful in. If there is anyone out there that thinks Brad is gonna save us if Andy goes down, PLEASE let me smack you now and relieve the pain early because it will NEVER HAPPEN.

Amen Savage. I just don't get it. The Bills got Jackson to back up Fitz, that was after bringing in VY. The Bears got Campbell to back up Cutler. Patriots used a 3rd round pick to get Mallet to back up Brady. I can go on with other teams, but the Bengals would rather keep someone with a career 53.0%, a 65.8 rating, and a 6-14 record as a starter. But hey, just have to pray Dalton stays healthy.

I made a thread where I listed every backup in the NFL. Grad was easily one of the 4-5 worst backups in the league. His stats are terrible and unlike Tebow, he's not a winner. I don't know why it is, but Mike Brown has always had terrible backup QBs. I guess it does save him money.

It's little things like this why I haven't bought in all the way with this team. I am big fan of Andy, AJ, Geno, and a few others, but as a whole I just don't know yet. I can see this team going 10-6 as much as 6-10.

Same here. I liked the draft, but that could go either way and we skimped in free agency yet again. A lot depends on the continued development of Dalton, but I don't think he will be the type of QB that can carry a weak team. This season really could go either way, but I'm starting to get a bad feeling about it.

Back to the topic (Bills) they are searching for a legit starter, imo. Fitz has looked like Jordan Palmer, and Vince Young has looked even worse. They have a great defense on paper at least, but their offense has been totally missing in action. I agree we don't worry about the backups when we should, but I'm thinking the Bills aren't either; they are looking for a starter that can produce.

This ^. The only time we've ever had a good backup was when we signed a 37 year old Boomer Esiason. Kitna was ok though.
