I disagree. I believe Collins could hold his own against a guy like Abraham.

I wouldn't have been as worried about Bruce tbh. Not that I want him to get drilled or anything but yea.

I think that at 100% our offensive line would have been atleast slightly better than last year. I do think that a healthy Bobbie Williams probably is slightly better than the rookie version of Zeitler that we are seeing...although Zeitler will pass him with experience...and that's not a knock because Bobbie is a pretty good Guard.

We didn't really see enough of Wharton to know if he upgrades us or not. My gut tells me he was an upgrade in the running game and a slight downgrade in the passing game to Livings.

But yeah...people were saying that our offensive line was going to be the strength of the offense. Even at 100%, I don't think that is accurate. At 60% it's a weakness pending a trade.

I agree..... I thinl we should have signed bobbie williams back..... I also think if we move A smith to left gaurd and put A collins at tackle Oline would be much better

The OLINE on paper was fixed which is all anyone could have said a couple months ago

injuries can change that in a second.

eventually you have to let the older guys go especially when their proformance is declining and you spent a 1st rounder on their replacement.

Why wouldn't you just put Collins at Guard?

While I like Lapham, but like most announcers he talks alot of BS that he doesn't really know. Anthony Collins has held his own against some of the better speed rushers in the league with Pittsburgh and Baltimore as recently as last year.

And now cook might be out too... If we dont get another gaurd and now maybe a center this is gonna be a very long season....After watching the green bay game the Oline looked no better them last year.... I think it might have looked worse....Because now we cant run the ball at all.....Having sad all that i hope some of the reason we looked so bad was because we where missing our number 1 and 2 backs and our better blocking T.E..... I mean lets get real we play some pretty good teams this year....And this Oline as it is right now wont get the job done..... I know some people are gonna get mad at me for saying this but thats just the way i see it OH P.S the oline has been holding this team back for 4 years

In past seasons because he was not a power blocker and could not blow his man off the line-now: it depends what you're talking about:

running game: much of the same with some new wrinkles
Passing game: very different

Running game for me still has too much "Balls to the Walls" here come try to stop us. I want to see more diversity-quick pitches, counters, traps, sweeps...If you want to make the case that we have not done this because of no Bernard Scott, and now no Gresham, I see that as valid-although I would like to give Peerman a chance at filling Scott's shoes. Gruden even said he backed off the power game because he lost Gresham. Right now the run game is neutered ...

Passing wise: Here Collins should shine-now that he does not have to hold his block for a ridiculous length of time for 22 yard pass routes (and yes I am still bitter...frankly Bratkowski made a mockery of a great offense).

Finally- Collins is not really a guard....what he is-an offside tackle in a finesse style offense ...I was surprised as all get out that he re-signed here.

Ian

We won the North due to the oline in '09.

Oline was rather good in 2010 save for 2 spots, and Carsone was awful.

Last year were top 3 in pass pro.

Try again.

Well, I'd go more with the D, but the OL + Benson were good too

There are plenty of starters in the league that can't deal with him. That being said, our line is ****.
