They have other draft picks and free agency. You dont pass on a guy you feel can be your franchise QB.

They should absolutely take a QB if they are picking top 5 next year. Kolb is horrible and Skelton isn't a whole lot better. Problem is that they have neglected their O-line the past few years and it having a devastating impact on their team.

Berseker, where are you getting the positional rankings from? I am surprised to not see Gholston in round 1. Not complaining, mind you, as I hope we get lucky and snag him. The Cowboys could be our thorn in the side team this year. I think they might look at Bjoern Werner to give Ware a little help on that defense.

Looks big and mean but doesn't have a whole lot of actual football acumen to what I have seen. He was absolutely OWNED by Michigan LT Taylor Lewan. He does run hot and cold. I was watching that Michigan State vs Georgia game last night and he alternatwd between beast mode and invisible quite a bit. I suppose the first round is a bit high to gamble like that. But when your picking 26-29 like i think we are going to be it seems you have to gamble a bit.

Or you go the Arizona route and trade a 2nd round pick and talented CB for a backup QB who never accomplished much and ignore the OL.

What site did you guys use for the draft order, or did you guys make that list yourselves?

I used CBS sports. Then modified it so it wasn't a giant love fest for some teams.

It isn't so simplistic.
Justin Smith is/was a good pass rusher. Much like Werner. Both play the run well too.
I think he is like Smith coming out of college. Might never be 20 sack guy, but in the right scheme he can be a 10+ sack guy with 3 down ability. That is more rare at this point.

He isn't like Allen because Allen is a rare entity. It is hard to tell at this point.

I dont think he will be like JSmith is NOW.
But like him when he was with us. So good, but more than likely criminally underrated and under-appreciated by fans. So maybe a good comparison would be somewhere between the two. But probably not at the extreme for either.
