Who cares, this is the Bengals message board and this organization will not be bringing him back

This. Just because his bro turned out to be a flake we shouldn't hold it against him.

Bring back Jordan Palmer.... ?

I'd rather have Gradk anyday, and I don't think much of his play.

To get cut from the Jags, that's pretty much the end of the line. Wouldn't you agree?

People used to say that about getting cut from the Bengals.

Glad we're not 'that team' anymore.

Jordan is done. Brat was his last hope of latching on to an NFL roster. As for Carson, he's not going anywhere (for now) because of the price the Raiders paid for him. That will only get him so far though. The Raiders' GM had nothing to do with the Carson move, so if Carson wants to stay in Oakland he will need to light it up this season. I don't see that happening. My prediction: Carson will be looking for work next offseason. Possibly as a backup. He might just go ahead and retire.

Based on what I've seen this pre-season, I think he could be looking for work *THIS SEASON* - when he gets cut from the Raiders!

I'll admit he looks like a lousy fit with that new offensive scheme, but you have to realize that you are inadvertently giving the stamp of approval to Matt Leinart, here. Careful!

Not really. There was another QB the Raiders had that lit up the game. I think his name is Terrelle Pryor. Something tells me that he'll start ahead of Matt Leinart.

Yeaaaa, preeetty sure Pryor won't be facing a practice squad defense every week.

Getting Pryor was Al Davis' last move. They spent a 3rd round pick on him and they will eventually want to see what he's got in a real game. If the Raiders flop this year, Pryor will definitely get the call over Leinart.

Our backup situation is horrible, but we don't need A Palmer riding the bench and not producing. Im thinking he stepped up hard because he knew he was on the outs....I mean seriously.....COME ON MAN!! Where was that fire when you had a job in the first place? If he had shown that heart when it mattered he wouldn't be looking for work. My guess, he'll be in Oakland before next Friday on Carson's recommendation.

I don't disagree with you. Leinart is there to know Knapp's offense and hold a clipboard. I do disagree with the Colts fan assessment that Palmer should lose his job after Pryor had one good preseason game in the last preseason game where starters are hard to find.

Palmer will lose his job not because Pryor had one good preseason game. He'll lose his job because he'll keep throwing interceptions while not leading his team to victory.

Then, the coaches will weigh whether they have a better chance of winning with Leinart or Pryor. Leinart has already made himself a legend by being known as Captain Checkdown. That's now how the Raiders use their QB. They like long bombs. Which is something Pryor can do easily. He can run too!

The only way Palmer keeps his job is if he throws more TD's than INT's and wins a few games in the process.

How is our backup situation horrible?? Gradkowski knows the offense about the same as Dalton has seeing they've been here at the same time and he's been decent coming off the bench in his career, by no means is he one of the best backups in the nfl but he's not one of the worst either, if anything he's pretty average

I think you have Carson Palmer mistaken for Rex Grossman. I'll admit that Palmer's TD to INT ratio was bad last year, and it would have been nothing more than completely even if you took out that KC game where he knew 5 plays, but even while being so-so he put the team in a position to make the playoffs for the first time in almost a decade.

I don't think he's going to be benched any time soon, but I will admit I'm skeptical he is anything but a lousy fit for the new offense they brought in for no good reason.

Actually, his 65.8 career rating is one of the 5 worst among 2nd string backups in the NFL. So yeah, our backup situation is pretty bad.

Which he has done in every season but 2004(his first season playing it was 18/18), and 2011(13/13 as a starter), when he was learning a new offense on the fly.

If you're talking about the Raider's "new" offense... it's because they also brought in a "new" Head Coach, that's why! That's the real reason. And yeah, I agree with you, he's a lousy fit for that offense. It was real obvious in the preseason.

You know who seems to fit the new offense, though, is Terrelle Pryor!
