Default Was Kellen Moore worth picking up

After watching the Lions play the dogsnot out of Kellen Moore, I was just wondering what the overall consensus is of this kid. Hes had a few balls batted down and looks pretty rough. He killed it in college, and as much as the Lions have been playing him, it looks to me like he may become the number 2. They see something they like, because he has played a bunch this preseason. Thoughts if any?

Moore is the Lions 3rd string qb right now and no way will he surpass Shaun Hill as the backup this year. I think the Lions like him though and can see him being put on their p.s. if they don't keep him on their 53 that is which would seem unlikely.

Personally I think he has some upside to being a solid backup in the league down the road once he gets accustomed to NFL offenses. He was a winner in college and put up good numbers.

I like the kid, he has a lot of potential. I wouldn't be surprised to see him in a game or 2 this year if the Lions get banged up. He has a lot to prove, bieng undersized and slow but I think the Lions hit the lottery picking him up so cheap.

If he would have been a couple inches taller, Moore would have been at worst a 3rd rounder. If he can overcome the height issue, ala Doug Flutie, he could be a very good backup/ future starter somewhere. Like Millz said, he's a winner, and that can't be discounted.

He apparently made the Lions initial 53 after all behind Stafford and Hill. Not bad for the udfa.

Kellen Moore did make the 53, we'll see after the cut day pick ups and what not but... he's been doing really good up in Detroit camp according to everything I've read. When I've watched him, he's smart and is accurate, but his arm strength leaves something to be desired. I think he totally could be a decent QB though because his intelligence and game day savvy make him pretty good.

People compared him to Peyton in that regard.

Except he doesn't have Peyton's arm, height, overall skill, or confidence.

Moore ***** IMO

He has heart, he's a winner and he finds ways to make things happen. From what Ive seen, in the no huddle, hes lethal, and I bet if he plays any this year thats how they use him. I like the kid.

I figured he's make the 53. Keeping 3 QB's on the 53 makes sense when your starter is injury prone.

I hope he proves the critics wrong and does extremely well in the NFL. I know he's fun to watch, and I he stays healthy he could turn out to be something special.

Hence the comparisons to Peyton.

He just doesn't have the talent or size to be successful IMO.

Russell Wilson is small, but he's thicker, and his arm is a cannon.
