He had the one juggling catch. A few blocks.

Other than that....

I hope he is still recovering, because he does not look good.

Agreed. He showed flashes of that talent again...but still just flashes.

I love Gresham, but man, he needs to contribute more to the offense.

His stat lines are not nearly what they could be.

Also, were Charles and Lee playing today? I didn't hear their names once.

It's hard to make plays down field when you're constantly stuck blocking.

Yeah, I hope we don't waste any more first round picks on pro Bowl players.

Last year Gresham was 7th in TD catches among TEs despoite missing.

He also finished 10th in receptions per game by a TE.

I agree that he needs to get down field more, but that is on the OC not him. he needs to get more yards.

But anyone who calls that kind of production "pathetic" is either a troll or knows nothing about the NFL.

Gresh is starting to remind me of Keith Rivers. Solid but very unspectacular, with some injury issues.

That kind of production is nice if you are a late round pick but when you take a TE with your first pick you would think he would be productive in his 3rd year, whether its the coaching staff under utilizing him or something Gresham is responsible for its Pathetic

A troll is someone who posts something they know is not true just to get people stirred up.

Yep, 7th in tds and 10th in receptions equals "Pathetic".

Thanks for proving my point Storm. I can always count on you.

Default Time to Bench Gresham?

First, awesome TD.

He then had atleast 2 drops. One was on 3rd down that would have extended a drive that hit his hands.

The 2nd...I find hard to explain. It hit him right in the chest and he dropped it.

We CANNOT have this! Is it time to bench him in favor of Charles to send a message?

The 49ers sent Vernon Davis to the lockerroom a few years ago to send a message and he has been awesome ever since.

Gresham has been horribly inconsistent. Charles has shown flashes and should probably get more playing time, but I don't think benching Gresham would help anything.

Personally I thought the one pass to him was high. Yes he got his hands on it, but he was open and could have been delivered better. Dalton could have made an easier catch with it.

Benching doesn't have to be for an entire game. It could be when he misses a pass during the game that the put Charles in for a series.

Singletary didn't send Vernon Davis to the locker room because of his poor play. He sent him inside due to his poor attitude. I agree that the drops need to stop, but that is something that the coaches need to work on with him in practice.

Jermaine Gresham was the 21st pick of the 2010 National Football League draft.

It would seem, after the initial applause, the yearly play of ALL Cincinnati Bengals first round picks decreases with time from the initial draft.

The opinion to bench a first round draft pick because of poor play reflects poorly on the ability of the management of the Cincinnati Bengals to draft players that improve with time from their intial drafting.

bengals Re: Time to Bench Gresham?

Its time to do something...

As I stated in a different thread last week he takes too many plays off.........I think a little time on the bench watching Orson Charles or whoever else we put out there would do him good.

Lets all be honest he hasn't lived up to the first round draft hype.....blame it on the coaches, blame it on the OC, hell blame it on rain (as Prince says) but change is needed........

Gresham is like Green, the more we move him around, the better he plays.
