I am not sure that Rambo is going to drop to the 3rd with "just" two marijuana-related instances (pot brownies & pot-possession by someone else in the car). But, I would love Rambo in stripes. I have some reservations about Ray-Ray Armstrong. He is a bad seed, correct? Armstrong may be a candidate for UDFA similar to Burfict. http://espn.go.com/college-football/...-ray-armstrong WTS, perhaps a WCO FB in the 6th? DE: Werner/Dunlap/MJ/Anderson? SAM: Stewart/Skuta/Moch MIKE: Skov/Burfict WILL: Howard/TBD FS: Nelson/Iloka SS: Rambo/Armstrong UDFA/Dye or Sands or Miles or Mays Last edited by mulligan; 09-17-2012 at 01:06 PM. |

We wouldn't be starting 2 rookie LB.
S: Moch | Stewart M: Maualuga | Skov W: Howard | Burfict Until one of those guys shows they should start over the incumbent, they don't

Something doesn't add up here. Especially with all the other deficiencies on this team. Center, SS, WR2?, RB. |

I'd keep our best LB and if Skov doesn't pan out then yeah, Id want someone who knows the defense. I drafted a S, RB and C. So I am not sure what concern you are manufacturing here. I doubt we draft a 3rd WR in 2 years any higher than late round. The team likes Binns, Sanu, Hawkins and Jones. Can only have so many WR.

Not sure if Rambo falls all the way to the 3rd with 2 marijuana related incidents. Perhaps. But if you are uncertain as to Skov (early 2nd round pick), how are you certain that Rambo (mid 3rd rounder) would pan out at SS? What is your strategy at SS? Start Mays or Miles with Rambo backing them up? I am uncertain with this as well. Clements? idk. But, imo, drafting an early 2nd round MIKE as a backup to a newly extended Maualuga doesn't add up. If you re-sign Maualuga at MIKE, then it doesn't make sense to draft another MIKE with the early 2nd round pick. Especially with alternative MIKEs such as Muckelroy, Skuta, & Burfict on the roster. If Maualuga is signed to a multi-year reasonable extension ($5 million per year), then you run into investing too much money in a failing investment. The only way I can think of this working is if the Bengals pay Maualuga a lucrative 1 year salary with Maualuga accepting and not leaving in free agency. Even in this scenario, I don't like the idea of overpaying Maualuga to stay and keeping Skov on the bench while Maualuga gets the starting snaps. Either go with Maualuga with Burfict/Skuta/Muckelroy as the safety net, or let Maualuga go and draft his replacement. I think that the Bengals are close to the same scenario as they were in the 2005 draft. Pollack & Thurman were taken with the first two picks and were opening day starters. An early 2nd round pick (36th - 40th overall) should still be a starter on the Bengals. The Bengals don't have the luxury to draft depth in the 2nd round, as of yet. PS Our best LB is on IR; Thomas Howard. Last edited by mulligan; 09-19-2012 at 01:06 PM. |

Looks pretty right now. I think Stewart gets noticed just like Barwin and Wolfe. Heck even Hughes who was a 3rd. I don't think he makes it to 4.
With Nelson, Miles, Mays, Iloka, Sands, and Dye I don't think we will draft 2 safeties. Every year we all want a S early and every year it doesn't happen. So I won't be too surprised when it doesn't happen again. I'd rather get an OLB early than MLB. I think Burfict could cover us in the middle. And I would rather have Lawson back than Maualuga. Howard maybe, but his injury is a concern. I think it is a toss up for top HB in this draft. And Ellington should be in the conversation. |
