Default Ok, so the Offense & Special Teams carry Us

Why really sweat it as long as we're winning? Injuries on our top 5 Defense has crippled it's effectiveness...OK? The Bengals' Offense isn't trash...Neither is the Special Teams. As long as the Defense fights, learns, adjusts, and work on at least getting some turnovers...the offense has enough firepower and stability to hang with anyone. Our Wild Card is our potent Special Teams both Kick-Off & Punt Coverage teams are above average (they shut down the deadly Josh Cribbs)... My homeboy (Dayton/Centerville) Mike Nuggent is a Top 5 Field Goal Power... Cincy's Kevin Huber is getting very dependable and he's always an inside the 10 threat...AND, Do we really need to talk about the Return Teams?
Yes the Defense has serious issues, but there is enough power and effectiveness from the other two phases to pull it off. Hey Ya'll, despite losing Cook, vet Guards...the O-Line is turning out to be a major force. The Law Firm (not sure that I like the nickname) is deadly effecient and has extremely good hands (This is a blessing because I can see the effect of losing Donald Lee @TE). I'm curious on how B-Scott will fit...Optimistically Curious.
So maybe this season the Bengals become an Offensive Power that enters the playoffs... Green Bay, New England, Arizona, New Orleans and many others have done it.

I'll take one of what he's drinking.

Seriously, I love your enthusiasm but Andy and our offense (as good as I one day believe they will be) aren't in any way ready to win us a bunch of games all on their own.

We've got to at least have an upper 3rd of the leauge defense to have a serious shot, this season !

After watching the Falcons/Broncos game I realized how slow our D can be at times. Those guys were all over the place......I just want our D to play with that kind on FIRE!! It wasnt 1 guy it was the whole D!! I know Peyton tried to come back at the end, but I give a ton of credit to the Defense.

Offense is no different. Watch any team, and we seem like we are so damn slow. Hell, I caught some of the Panthers game, and it felt like it was Madden.

I think the issue I am having with this year's team is that I'm not seeing the improvement over last year's team, which is very frustrating.

Now, I've always said that this team will be a better team at the end of the year than they are now, but it wears on me when the defense has been horrible the first couple weeks.

I thought coming into this year that with all the "veteran leaders" that this team would look pretty good coming out of the gate. So far they haven't.

If the injuries get cleared up, then hopefully we'll see the improvement.

We definitely have taken a step back as a team since last year. I feel everyone, minus maybe 2 or 3 players has.

-We beat the Browns.
-We're not going to get return TD's very often.
-Our offense isn't going to score that many points frequently.

What you mean Pac Man won't return one every game?

We won't play 4-5th string defensive players every week?

No and i caught week two. Incidentally Baltimore loss in week two. This is just week Three coming up. I really don't see why this team cannot have the offense AND special teams pull the load for a while. Are you saying the season is lost if the Bengals fail to have a Top 5 defense? This team is loaded with offensive skill at WR and BJGE is an excellent receiving RB with big time smarts. Both Nuggent & Huber are good...sometimes exceptional. The Return game is always a threat to win it, and field position and time of possession are a result of their efforts.
Dalton didn't blow long passes, he just barely missed them...that's timing and fixable. The few..very few passes that he overlooked happens with all QBs. Also, Dalton doesn't get rattled in the pocket...if anything he holds the ball too long, because of his toughness. This Offense just won the last game, regardless. Yes cleveland was missing Haden, but the complete center of the Bengals O-line (Guard to Guard) is brand new! Cleveland has a monster front 7. This Offense and Special Teams can do it, WHILE the Defense gets fixed.

Yes, with an average QB, a weak WR core outside of AJ and horrible play calling by the offensive coordinator it is going to be a long season without our defense carrying the team.

Yea, well maybe you can start our draft possibility list...along with the boycott Brown, Fire Lewis, Dump Gruden, Run Zimmer outta town movements...
I'm gonna enjoy the fight and cheer on MY Favorite NFL Team. I'm seeing every team struggle even with wins. Philly fans are crying with a 2-0 record, because they're winning ugly. This is football...There's no Cryin' in Football!

Yea, doesn't surprise me... The Bengals Troll Patrol is always screaming for change...a bunch of reject politicians... but I guess it's cool. I am not into college draft choices for 2013 right now, so it's useful that others can focus on that ahead of time.

I like Taylor's fire, hits and efforts. I hope that he gets used somewhere on defense. Why?

Unfortunately, as past history has shown...no matter how good a draft is...you fill only 1 or 2 holes.

You have to use free agency for the rest...

While we're winning? We beat surely one of the worst teams in the league by a TD. I think if we play like that the rest of the way, we'll win very few games.

Our offense likely wont be explosive enough to overcome a woeful D, like your Green Bay's, New England's etc. If we can keep teams to 17-20 points, them we can beat them. Giving up 27+ each week and you can put us up for a very high draft pick already.

We have to up our game majorly.
