Default Bryan Thomas?

I know some of you just LOVE these threads, but I had to bring it up.

Bryan Thomas is a veteran LB that has 95 starts on his resume, quite a few of those coming at WLB. He could be depth at worst and he would definitely give us more flexibility at LB. He's definitely in shape and ready to go.

I thought they would have signed one but I guess they are happy with Rey, Dan and the rook.

Sure, we had a devastating injury to our WLB and we're trying to replace him with 2 guys with no experience at all, but there's absolutely no way we could use a guy with 95 career starts for insurance. Silly me. I thought we were trying to contend here.

Former 1st rounder? Sounds like he'd fit right in.

I'd say MB and ML wouldn't touch that one.

Money issues and an injury would be serious red flags to them.

We need it. I just don't see it.

Ahhh yes. What would the Bengals board be without a new thread about every player that another team cuts.

Eh, maybe. That isn't always such a huge hurdle depending on the player. If he's worth a damn the Bengals could just try him out. Our defense is chock full of castoffs from other teams, many former first rounders, and there's no denying that the LB corps is the achilles heel of this team right now with Maualuga whiffing left and right and Howard, our best LB, out for the season.

Never hurts to kick the tires.

He's a 10 year vet who was cut today. He was drafted in the 1st round in 2002 by the Jets and has not been unemployed since.

Also, as an odd aside, his contract was fully guaranteed due to the new CBA so he is getting paid regardless so money shouldn't be an issue with this guy.

If wouldn't hurt to bring him in. We could use all the LB help we can get, plus any chance you get to improve the team you do it. Also I have never heard him in the media so he is not a "diva".
