I wasn't happy with the defense in the first half to be honest. And I was pretty angry when it was vrabel, not fickle, that called them together and yelled at them, once he did that they looked quite a bit better, and they made some great halftime adjustments. But I suppose the question is, who made the adjustments, fickle, the co-DC, or a combination of the two? If Fickle wasn't there due to personal reasons or something, then I can understand Vrabel stepping into that role, but I'm guessing that just like last year he had that deer in head lights look when stuff wasn't working right.

coolest thing about the OSU fanbase is how everyone wears the red jersey with the big block numbers on them. I bet they are all different numbers representing different players too. that's pretty sweet.

Up to #12 this week, in spite of a lackluster performance. Good job by Wisconsin & Nebraska, making the B1G look weak. Not sure how M!ch!g@n managed to move up, either. They were a play away from losing to Air Force at home.

Braxton Miller is 4th in the nation in rushing yards per game.

http://web1.ncaa.org/mfb/natlRank.js...&div=IA&dest=O

He is also 14th in total offense per game

http://web1.ncaa.org/mfb/natlRank.js...&div=IA&dest=O

and 7th in points responsible for.

Yeah I missed watching it today, was at my work, but did listen to it on radio. Our offense was just awful that 3rd quarter, and defense wasn't as tight for the day until that last intro it seemed. Cal is the best team we have faced so far, but still. Meyer cant be happy with the defense though, and the offense at times as well. Just gotta remember this is all a work in progress until he can get the players that fits his style, like on defense as we have lost a lot of talent last couple of years.

D-line against the rush was horrid!! Ok in the secondary against the pass... Good pressure on the qb....I am a die hard buckeye but think this team is gonna struggle against the big 10!!! O line is weak!!! Hall looked ok... Miller is a stud but like speilman said today....we don't move the ball or score unless miller is doing it all!!! Receivers are mediocre at best besides brown

We will have problems with MSU, but no one else in the B1G has impressed me.

Although Purdue may also be better than people think.

Buckeyes saw a team of athletes from the West Coast today, something that they aren't used to. Cal is like USC or Oregon "lite", this year, but they still have top caliber athletes. Today was a good wake up call for the rest of the season ahead.

Way to show some grit and character today, Buckeyes. Defense really looked like an actual defense for the first time this season.

watching it now on dvr...10:00 left in 4th. it feels like the offense is on the verge of breaking out tbh...every time we have a good drive it is met by a turnover or penalty...braxton miller is the real deal, and when things click watch out.

btw i know the final ends up 17-16, but im still nervous lol.

Yesterday was my wedding anniversary so I didn't get to see the second half live. When we got back from dinner to watch the second half, there were some storms in the general area during the game. So most of the 3rd quarter and all of the 4th I got a split screen with the weather taking up most of it. And no sound from the game. I was soooooo PO'd.

Not to rub it in but you missed a good game...typical big ten tough game ....great road game...would like to see us throw more on offense but if it works to run you keep going to the well...miller is certainly the real deal and we will go as far as he takes us...record wise!!! The defense showed up and it makes our team as a whole look like a top 10 team.

My dad had the same problem in Fayetteville. I called him after the game to get his opinion, he was "a little disgrunttled", to say the least.

As for the second half, it looked like it was going to become a wide-open scoring fest, as both teams got points on their first two drives of the 3rd qtr. I was impressed with how the OSU defense settled down, and held their own to secure the win. Once they started getting pressure to Maxwell, he started making bad throws and the MSU recievers started dropping passes again. The LBs for OSU looked good for the 1st time this year, holding Bell to just 45 yds on 17 carries.

What a game. Cant believe Braxton made it through the whole thing the way he kept getting nicked up. I thought for sure he was done for the day after he planted his leg into the ground on that one scamper. He is a gamer though, and had a solid day overall.
