I don't really think that, but this thread is going out to all you fools who told me good QBs ball out regardless of coaching and other factors.
Kiss da ring fools. I tried to tell ya'll. |

Here are a few reasons I think why he hasn't: 1) Drew Brees is on the wrong side of 30. 2) Drew Brees is missing his head coach, and interim head coach due to suspensions. 3) Steve Spagnulo's defense has not really helped Drew Brees in the way they thought it would. 4) The Saints rushing game is ranked 22nd. 5) Their schedule is hard. All this means is no matter how good a player is, if there are too many factors working against him he won't play well.

Oh yea, some numbers......He's completing 55%, 6.5 ypa, 7 TDs to 5 Ints, 77 rating......Same everything but the coach.
Rodgers, Brady and Brees......Those were the creme de la creme for a few years now. What happened?? It's like I always said when debating QBs, they are more reliant on their supporting cast than any other position. Becuz of this a good one can be made to look very average. A lot of you guys would have none of it. Explain Brees' extreme drop off and the Saints being 0-3.......It's all about the QB right? He makes everyone around him better and wins ball games with his awesome QB powers no matter what right? Especially an "elite" QB like Brees, making all that money, how dare him?? Lulz I told ya'll that thought process was craziness. Should have listened ya hermits. ![]() |

Saint D and run game have been average at best this whole time. QBs play well into their 30's....give him Payton back, and he's his usual self again in no time. My main point is that in spite of popular opinion, good or even great QBs don't just shower the league with badassery regardless of circumstances. Many have claimed they do exactly that no matter how many examples I gave them to the contrary. Here's another current example to show how right I am, so you know I had to make a thread for it cuz I'm humble like that. |

And yea, he is on the wrong side of 30, but for QBs, that's not as big of a deal as some other positions. And you know Bryan, tbph, the other issues you pointed out, are actually probably why the mighty Brees has fallen off so dramatically to start this year. 0-3, 15% drop in completion %....That's extreme and the Saints being so reliant on his arm and Sean Payton's game planning and coaching ability are why they've started so slow. |

@ GB VS. SD @ TB @ DEN VS. PHI VS. ATL @ OAK VS. SF @ ATL @ NYG VS. TB @ DAL VS. CAR I count 4 "easy" games(Technically there are no easy teams but those teams are the weakest) left on the schedule, they had a tough schedule before all the bounty crap and suspensions, it's even tougher without Peyton there.

It is amazing what a good head coach, Payton, who is also the play-caller for the offense can mean to their team. Not to mention the off-season distractions with the bounty-gate scandal.

One of the sticking points was that a great QB will perform at their optimal level regardless of circumstance, which was ridiculous, but several people argued that point to me. Now I'm just rubbing their faces in it with this most recent example that serves as further evidence to support my opinion. Quote:

DB doesnt stink...lost of dropped passes....defense not holding...lots of contributing factors. Drew is still sharp but he is looking sickly on the sideline lately when he realizes hes lost another game.
