Default More roster moves

Geoff Hobson @GeoffHobsonCin

#Bengals cut TE Quinn, sign rookie CB Lewis-Harris from PS

I wondered why he hadn't been called up when they signed Crocker, so seeing this move now has me pondering just how badly our secondary is hurt.

On the plus side, he looked like our best corner in pre-season, so you never know!

So that's now two TE's on the roster. A bit odd that.

Yes. Let's not all be too surprised if they sign Colin Cochart back in a few weeks

I agree, once those old geezers in the secondary get healed up, they 'll bring the TEs back to the roster.

It'll be fine. I don't see the Bengals using a whole lot of 2 TE sets anyways and if they do, they're primarily blockers. You can just throw a random tackle or guard up on the line to do that.

Not sure how good he is, hopefully he plays well. He is a practice squad activation.

He played for University of Tennessee Chattanooga and split time at CB and Safety. He had 5 career interceptions, and 83 solo tackles with 31 assists in college. Was named to the All-Southern Conference 2nd team at CB.

He does have speed though ran a 4.46 40 yard dash at his pro day. The kid seems decent, makes good open field tackles and has good instincts. Coverage looks to be good but the way he sits on WR's it looks like he leaves to much cushion and he ends up having to come up from behind and close the gap before making a play on the ball, but who knows I'll let you guys make your own evaluations. He played in all 4 preseason games and had 13 tackles and 1 sack.

It's about time they made this move for Lewis-Harris. He is a better option than throwing Crocker out there as the Nickel.

I think this means Leon will not be going on sunday. I like this move as a one week fix. Hopefully he can really surprise some people!

Personally, I would really like to see Cochart back with the team. I thought he was developing nicely.

I agree remembering seeing in preseason man this kid is very impressive. Thought he played the best of all the corners. Lets see what he can do. Who Dey!!!

Agreed I was not looking forward to seeing Crocker getting burnt by slot guys, then people saying, "at least he knew what to do."

Don't forget ol' number 74. Dennis Roland is our X factor. Jack of all trades... master of none.

The point is, Hall, Allen, and Clements will all probably be out at this point. So RIP the secondary

Since Shipley is gone and our staff doesn't know how to incorporate Gresh we need to abandon the whole "I support the youth movement" thing and start a new movement

"I support the stone age secondary" which feature Terrance Newman, Pacman Jones, Chris Crocker and YES, were bringing back Roy Williams baby :)

Honestly? I really truly believe that Brian Leonard could probably play some TE. 6'1", 225lbs, former Fullback.. has good hands, respectably fast, and can pass block very well. Now do I believe that's what they're going to do? No, but I think it'd sure be interesting.

At this point we need to hope we can squeak out wins against the Jags, Fins, and Browns. Pray for no more injuries, and go into the tough part of our schedule healthy.

Please tell me you are not stating that Shipley should still be with this franchise. If this is what you are saying then the very slight respectability that you had is gone. You show a complete lack of logic with your post.

1) Gresham was a large part of the game plan last week. As well, part of him not being targeted has to do with him not getting separation and getting open. It has to do with him not working toward open areas of the field when Andy is moving. There are certainly things in his game that Gresham can improve and a big part of it is working without the ball.

2) You try to use Ship and Gresham (his ineffectiveness) as a knock against the youth movement. Well, what about Binns, Hawkins, Jones, Sanu, etc. Heck, I would rather have Hawk than a healthy Shipley. Ship as never as explosive as Hawk is with the ball in his hands. I do not think defenses feared Ship taking it to the house on them. Yes he was a sure handed possesion receiver that would extend drives and move the chains. Hawk is just plain dangerous.

While you are knocking the older CBs you may want to keep in mind how much worse it could be without their experience.

So, is the leg Hall is having trouble with the same one as the achilles injury?
