Default Joseph Randle

I've said it before, but I think we should definitely be taking a good hard look at this kid. I think he has the tools to be an elite running back in the NFL. He isn't getting the publicity that Lattimore is getting, but is crushing him in the numbers game. Reminds me a TON of Fred Jackson.

Randle: 75 carries, 534 yards (7.1 avg), 6 TDs.

Lattimore: 92 carries, 440 yards (4.8 avg), 8 TDs.

Had a great game against a good defense in Texas. Very elusive + great vision:

Oh, and he can lower the shoulder:

late-first, early second?

I question whether Texas has that good of a defense Mississippi scored 30 on them. He's a fine prospect and I consider him my clear cut number two for now ahead of La'Veon Bell and behind Marcus Lattimore still.

Am I wrong to think he compares favorably to Demarco Murray?

Kid looks good. I'm not sure he's 1st round good, but maybe 2nd.

I was referring to similar running style (which could lead to injury) and size.

Yes! Thank God I wasn't the only one. This kid looks like the one thing we haven't had in the run game in a while, a playmaker. And we could use him on our early second (raiders) pick in the 2nd round while taking care of defense in the first. He's so underrated, I'd like to keep it that way.

Randle is a player. Have gotten to watch him a lot here in the Big XII. Three-down potential with him.
His brother could play a little too, but one too many off the field incidents led to his dismissal at KU, which cost KU any shot at Joseph.

I'm not saying he won't be a good player, but it's hard to judge when he's played an FCS team, and 3 defenses ranked 73, 74, and 111 out of 120.

While it's understandable to make this argument, it neglects the fact that Randle is not in his first year. Here are his career stats, including this year to-date.

SEASON ATT YDS AVG LNG TD REC YDS AVG LNG TD
2012 75 534 7.1 69 6 11 89 8.1 18 0
2011 208 1216 5.8 62 24 43 266 6.2 63 2
2010 82 452 5.5 39 2 37 427 11.5 38 1

http://espn.go.com/college-football/.../joseph-randle

So as you can see, he has performed well overall against good competition, and has improved year-to-year thus far.

I like him, I'd put him third on my favorites list:

1. Le'Veon Bell
2. Giovani Bernard
3. Joseph Randle
4. Andre Ellington
5. Stefan Taylor

Bell is your favorite? He's only rushed for 122 yards (3.38 YPC) and no TDs against both top-50 rush defense he's played against this year (ND and OSU).

I don't think he's a bad RB by any means, but I definitely do not have him as my favorite RB.

That's more of the fact that MSU has no passing game. When those teams put 9 in the box, nobody is running on them. In the OSU game he did have 8 catches for 58 yards. His receiving skills and pass blocking skills are two of the reasons why he is my favorite RB prospect.

P.S. ND's defense, led by Teo, is sick. My dream scenario would be Teo in the first, Bell in the second.

Giovanni Bernard and Joseph Randle are my top 2 RB prospects.

No way would I use a selection on Lattimore as high as he is projected. To pick a back that high he has to , IMO , be something really special. Lattimore to me does not have that quality.

Bell I just do not see being a great NFL back. I look for him to be a NFL bench player and spot starter.
