Default Carson Palmer

For the record, Carson Palmer has yet to complete a pass of over 20 yards in the air. He is 0-8 on passes where the ball travels more than 20 yards downfield.

Are you implying that this is 100% on him?

It never is, is it?

I wont say the receivers didn't have a part but my god man, it was never Carson's fault on anything here and now he is in Oakland with a whole new set of excuses.

Not at all. But I'm also not naive enough to believe that it is all the receivers fault. There is an obvious "out of synch" pattern between Palmer and his receivers. While he was here, it was always Chad's fault. Just something to think about.

That's what happens when all you can do is dump off to RBs.

Count down to raiders signing Chad...

Begins now.

1 week remaining. (do it before the jets do)

Carson is probably just not acclimated to his new club yet ?

Maybe he has yet to knock the rust off from his retirement ?

Maybe not enough time to develop chemistry with WR's ?

Darren McFadden's injury ?

Wait a minute these are all last years. Oh well, am certain new excuses will spring forth on his behalf.
But hoping he gets it going before November 24th, or the game may become anticlimactic.

i read somewhere, cant remember where exactly but the artcle stated that if the raiders get one of the top picks that they might go after matt barkley in the draft and the article stated if the raiders did do that , that they could possibly cut carson.

Hmmm. You can just look at the situation and get your answer, or continue your ******* line of reasoning that there is always an excuse for Carson. I'll say this - he has played well with what he has had this year. Jacoby Ford, their #1 starting WR is done for the year; Denarious Moore, their deep threat was out for 1 1/2 games and was out the entire preseason, and DHB got lit the **** up against the Stoolers and missed last game. What has that left? McFadden, Brandon Myers (who?), Rod Streater (a UDCFA), and Derek Hagan (who?). Not too mention Greg Knapp is a horrible OC, and has been everywhere he's been. McFadden isn't a zone runner and never will be. The guy excels in a power scheme.

I would draft Barkley and keep Carson to groom the kid. Palmer is hitting the mid 30's, so he's on the downward slope.

This.

Palmer hasn't been bad this year by any means.

He has nobody to throw to, really. He's not the best QB in the league, but some of you are being unfair to the guy.

I believe what Carson did here was unfair, and juvenile as well.

Karma can be cruel.

I'm not saying he's not at least partially to blame, and have been saying he's not the QB he once was. Looking at his current situation objectively though, he's doing pretty well. The team isn't winning, but it's not like Carson is out there throwing ints left and right, losing games. The defense has been horrible except for the Charger game, giving up over 30 points in every other game. He's got no real, go-to receiver, which would be a detriment to any QB; and to top it off, a first year HC with an all new offensive scheme that seems to be real hit or miss, and isn't utilizing the talents of most of the players, which is beating people deep and taking a good amount of shots downfield.

Carson beat the Steelers and he doesn't have 4 INTs per game as some people predicted/hoped. Meh, good enough for me.

I would love that because Mike Brown raped them with that trade and then they get nothing from it.

Personally, I think Carson's confidence is shot and he can't lead an offense and command the field like he did with us. He can't deliver the ball like he once could.

What will be icing on the cake is when we win at least one playoff game this season and then still have a high second round pick because of the trade.

I loved Carson while he was here, but he burnt out and then bailed on us (the fans, his teammates, the city, etc.) because he thought he was better than us, so him failing is hilarious, even if it's not completely his fault.

They may as well just take a shot with Pryor if they are going the "new QB" route...unless Reggie McKenzie is just trying to purge everything Al and Hue did before he got there (lord knows he was quick to pitch an effective offensive system for no reason). As for Carson being cut, I'd just wager that is some wishful thinking on the part of his detractors, but IF it happens, I see him getting snapped up by the Chiefs or just hitting the backup circuit...I don't see that happening, though.

The Raiders have a slew of issues that aren't Carson's fault, not that he's lighting it up, but the general consensus was that if he could keep the turnovers down (which he has) the team would be successful (which they haven't). Another pointless season or two and Carson could go down in history as one of the QBs with the highest total yardage and zero playoff wins. That can open the door to many-a-debate over him just not being a winner, or having nothing to work with.

Meh, at least he'll be noteworthy in a sense.

Pryor is a joke, especially in the WC system. If you are going to stick with the philosophy, take Barkley. Don't get me wrong, I love Carson, but I am also realistic in that players decline in their 30's. Palmer has done very well this season with what he has to work with and he has been pretty effective in the system when the running game has worked. Granted, the running game has only worked once. Knapp is a fool to think McFadden is a zone runner. It didn't work before and it's not working now. Time to go back to the power system with some zone still in there to be able to work the misdirection PA plays.

Carson is, for the most part; an absolutely great fantasy QB.

Do not fret over Carson's lack of support in Oakland.

He will hold the Raider's hostage and demand a trade. Or else he will quit and take his ball and run home after the season.

Can not wait until November 25th so I can witness Geno launching a Raider lineman at Carson.

If only we had their first round pick this year. We could have a top 5 pick, :(. At least it's looking like we'll have a high second rounder.

I guess it shows that over-the-hill QBs who aren't even in the AFC North have more wins against the Steelers than the Bengals do as of late. I fully expect the Bengals to beat the Steelers next week, but let's wait until they do before we act like a win against the Steelers is no big deal.

Nope, and while we are making stuff up, did you look at his stats? He has thrown 20 interceptions in his first 4 games alone and has demanded a trade and his wife threw trash on his own lawn! Also, the Bengals won the Super Bowl twice this season after only a quarter of the season and Ken Anderson is my brother-in-law!
