bengals Re: the Last 10 years

I don't know if I could answer the honestly. I'm guessing that, given his father's reputation, Mike was instructed very specifically on how to run and operate this team by (Paul). With this in mind, I suspect Paul would've had similar results in the modern NFL...... as unpopular as that might be around here. Of course this opinion is speculation and circumstantial, lol....

I see what you are saying, but it seems to me that as soon as PB died, MB wanted to show off his skills on how to run a franchise......but he didnt have any skills so we had to bear through the 90's until ML was hired. what a long decade it was too. lol

I honestly fail to understand why anybody keeps hanging on marvins nuts. he is a ****** poor NFL HC,,,he took us from sorry to ok,,,from stank, to cheap deodorant. He does things arse backwards most of the time.

Yeah lets fake a FG while we are up and could have made it a two score game (and fail)

but lets kick a FG while down by 4 with 3 mins left instead of a fake or just flat out going for it.

Ive wanted this guy gone since the end of 07

Mike has been better at some things....Like delegation. But he also has still the stubborn streak of loyalty and the fact he can still procrastinate when it comes to signing his own players, especially those whom he feels are not worth over paying for, even though he does need to.
Dunlap and Atkins are two that are coming to mind soon.

Personally, I would have never dreamed that Marvin would have lasted this long with MB as the owner.
Deserves Credit??? Are you kidding? Any owner who wants to win a SB, and makes decisions to achieve that goal, would have busted Marvin years ago. YIKES!!!

In terms of ownership of National Football League franchises, better would me making more money.

As a previous posters has mentioned,"3 trips to the playoffs and about 6-7 years of sellouts in that span is by default better than any progress he made in the 10 years before 2002 " - the sellouts and two home playoff games have earned Mike Brown a greater profit than the previous period (90`s).

And all the while only having to spend money on Carson Palmer, the franchise tags on Justin Smith and Stacey Andrews and a few other players.

No free agents of any note.......just profit for the Brown family. Mike Brown has a captured aidience in Cincinnati and wrings the most profit out of this captured audience.

re: Drafting

Interestingly enough, the Bengals are in the middle of the pack on drafting All-Pros...the problem is that most of them make it to that status with other teams.

So, our drafts have indeed yielded some high end talent...it just didn't produce when it was on this team.

Over the past 10 years...our winning percentage is better than 10 teams.
