I have been in Neyland Stadium where you literally could not hear the person sitting right next to you unless he screamed in your ear. It is an incredible experience.

I have seen games in othe NFL Stadiums (LP field, The Old Mile High Stadium, and the Silverdome) but I never experienced anything like Neyland. I have heard that old Mile High really got loud at times, but I was not there for a big important game that really had any exciting moments.

We are not loud because someone owe's us something. Or at least that is the general mindset that I've observed. Somehow this team owes its fans in a major way, to the point that some fans jumped ship altogether. Short of a SB victory, I dont see a whole lot of things changing. Hell we could win the SB, and I promise someone would still find something to whine about. Apparently this mindset kicks in when your team wasnt very good for a long long time. It doesnt matter that we voluntarily spend our time and money to be entertained by a football team. We still feel like we're entitled to something more, almost as if someone is forcing us to be Bengal fans.

Fans need to get loud in are house it helps the team out it gets players pumped up, causes false starts, makes other team call time outs plus other teams will hate playing at are house there is thousands of things that can kill you in the jungle baby! and it would help if every seat would get filled. i watch every game on TV in Eastern PA you can probley hear me get loud in Cincy!

PS i will be at the Dallas game who dey! then am goin to eagles game thursday night in philly, 2 games less then a week get some! eatin all my vacation time up

I was at the game and it was pathetic. Personally I still don't have my voice back yet, but hardly anyone else would srand up and yell. I was 4 rows off the field and hardly anyone was standin and yelling. You would think a section that close would get pumped but it was downright lethargic.

I LOVE THAT APPROACH!! Local media- Tv , Radio, and Print, The Video screens at PBS ect. Being a Season Ticket holder 600 miles away there is only so much we can do. BUT the 2 games we are there each season...WE ARE LOUD AND PROUD!! Last season someone threatened to call the "Jerkoff Line" if I didn't shut up. God I hate that politically correct crap ! Of course I DID NOT shut up.

This is not college with a student section. Some folks like to go to the game and watch it. Nothing wrong with screaming at the top of your lungs, but it is not necessary.

I went to Indy to see the Bengals a couple years ago and it was a very quite environment. Folks cheered when there was a nice play, sat during the normal run of play, stood when there was something exciting to see, and booed when things didn't go their way.

Had similar experiences in Nashville and KC.

Yup still no voice here either. I even seen before a play Dunlap was trying to get the crowd into the game by raising his arms and the crowd didn't respond. He threw is hand at the sidelines in disgust because no one started cheering. I know people are saying the team owns the fans something blah blah blah... If you are mad at mike brown then don't go to the games. If you do go the PLAYERS who sweat and bleed for the fans deserve some intensity and loudness from the fans. Get over the whole MB shinnanagins and root for your dang team! Pathetic

Lets see, pay $3200 a year for 4 seats (not counting seating licenses), not missing a season in over 20 years.

Get up very early on Sunday morning to prepare for game and do not reach home until after dark.

Drive in excess of 100 miles each way.

Park and walk about a mile or more, from Ky across a very old bridge.

Am almost always hoarse next day.

Have seen PBS deafening, electric even. But admittedly not in last two seasons as much.

But what makes sports so great is that it is spontaneous. If it needs to be choreographed ? May as well be WWF.

This is the NFL, and they are professional athletes paid extremely well. I do get loud, but if others do not ? That is their choice and should not be the only fuel the players need to run on.

It has very little impact on the game. I got news guys. You are not going to win a game for this team. Get over it.
Well you are as wrong as can be.

Home field advantage. A term you are obviously not aware of. Isn't an advantage because they are familiar with the field. It is an advantage because the home crowd makes enough noise to disrupt communication between the QB and OC and once they get to the line make it harder to call audibles.

When the crowd is loud enough to cause problems communicating for the visiting team it creates an advantage for the home team.

There is a reason a lot of teams play better at home. But when our QB is in a potential game winning drive and can't hear the call in his headset from the OC, there is a problem. And it is our fans.

If you know nothing about a subject your input is meaningless.

Kid yourself all you want.
Sure you may get a false start or two but the true advantage comes from the players routine. That is all.
Do you honestly believe that players haven't learned to adapt to noise by the time they've become pro's. We're talking about the best players, coaches and technology available. The only thing screaming and hollering does is make you feel good about yourself.

False starts
Burnt time outs
Miscommunication resulting in running the wrong play
Delay of games

You can't adapt. If you can't hear you can't hear. It happens every week in the NFL.

And tens of thousands of cheering fans can potentially give your defense that extra psychological motivation to make a big play.

The concept of a home field advantage is very real. And we don't have one.

Amen. Long-time STH like yourself, and although what I pay, how far I drive, and where I park are different from you, I know exactly how you feel. There have been games where I've yelled myself hoarse, and then there have been games like Sunday. My choice, and if I dont feel like cheering, I won't, regardless of what appears on the jumbotron or how loud some drunken fool yells at me to cheer.

The team was flat and they were in those stupid black on black uniforms that they always lose in.

I have to agree with the majority here...The fact that people don't know HOW to cheer is embarrassing as a fan, and a Cincinnatian. You don't yell and get all loud when the offense is on the field! It's that simple...Save it for when the OTHER team's offense is on the field and our DEFENSE is defending. Then get loud!

Some people just lack common sense. You'll see these same people leaving the game in their Mercedes and Lexus SUV's, etc. turning the wrong way on a one way street. Not because they are drunk, but because they lack common sense.

What's the point of going down to the stadium for the "NFL experience" if that experience makes you cringe?

Did not notice it being loud while Bengals were at the offensive line of scrimmage. Maybe after a big play, but they were far and few in between. Think some are mistaking him giving a sign by touching helmet(he does this often), they do the bird flap when wanting crowd to quiet.

No, it was not the fans that stopped the Bengals. It was Coyle and the Miami defense.

But if so many want the crowd etiquette the change. Get involved by going and leading by example.

Cincinnati fans are lazy about this. As proof. Last second cancellation caused me to have an extra front row, 30 yard line ticket on Bengals sideline. So close, you can talk to Geno. I was willing to give this ticket to any Bengals fan interested in going.

Was only posted on here with short window of opportunity (30 minutes). But then could not find anybody at the stadium either. Even though I went to most every tailgate party and stood out front as well.

But many Miami fans were willing to pay for it at stadium. But chose the extra elbow room over selling it to a Dolphin fan. Miami fans stepped up, Bengal fan stayed in bed apparently. But they got up in time to rip the fans that sold the stadium out so it could be televised.

Will say it again. That game is not on the fans.

College games have a much more diverse range of people age-and intensity wise, yet they all know when and how to make noise (even if they remaining sitting). Indy fans are some of the worse in the league (but I have seen this same thing there, in Detroit, and in Chicago)

I think a lot of our problem here is the general feeling that this team needs to really show us something before we're going to get all riled up. This goes for actually attending the game and for in-game behavior. It's going to take a while for people to be 'professional fans' once again. I painted my face, tailgated all day, and stood and screamed for 6 years...on Sunday, I slept in, my wife blessed me with some nook nook, then made a nice breakfast and I switched from coffee to beer right at kickoff. It was a fantastic Sunday with the Bengals that was not ruined by their loss.
