Default oct mock

1. Marcus Lattimore..RB..S Car....Probably the best running back in the class. 6' 220. Catches the ball well also. Was first team all-SEC at one time as a freshman running back. Nice power and effort, does everything well except exhibit great speed.

2. Khaseem Greene..OLB..Rutgers....Jumping on the bandwagon here for his solid month. Fills the stat sheet. 6'1 230..one of the best players in the Big East.

2. Gabe Jackson...G..Miss St...The guard class looks very solid. Gabe is an underclassman who might just fall right as the 4th interior lineman taken. 6'4 320 LG

3. Shawn Williams SS...Georgia...Tempted to grab a Safety earlier, but it seems there is good depth. Williams is 6'1 218. Solid frame and potential.

4. Jon Bostic..ILB...Fla....6'1 246. Senior at Florida runs a 4.59 yet plays the middle.

5. Dustin Harris..CB..Texas AM...6' 175...Haven't really watched him, but has excellent 4.4 speed and can be a force on punt returns.

5. Quanterus Smith..DE...W KY...6'5 250. Not a complete or consistent player, but can get to the quarterback.

6. T J Johnson...C...S Car....6'5 318.

Main interest was to get a starting RB. Add some linebackers with speed and covering ability. Grab another safety to help fix the revolving issue we have. And use 1 relatively early pick for the o-line.

I really don't think guard is a second round need, and I'd like a CB earlier, and a back that does have great speed.

There are some solid interior players in this draft. Cooper, Warmack, and Jones. Jackson is an underclassman and might be the best of his class. Whether the fault lies with the line or the RB, there have been several instances where Marvin wants the o-line, with the lead, to just close it out. And the success rate just isn't good. We really can't get things started either. All things remain on the table to me.

I'd like to take another CB early, but need wise, we still have Dre in reserve and see other areas that need addressed also.

I could see getting a speed back later. A change of pace back is never a bad idea. Lattimore is capable of catching the ball well though like a change of pace back could. He lacks the speed but still can be a threat out of the backfield.

The real key to next year's draft will be free agency. Hopefully, for once, the front office will go out and address the holes on the roster with starting level talent.

I think Boling and Zeitler are fine players. But the offensive line is the one place where continuity makes a big difference. I really think if you give this unit time to gel it could be a very good O-line next season. Keep in mind, every interior starter this year is new from last year, and it will change again in a few weeks.

Can't get on board with a guard early. Especially when the problem is at center right now.
