has anyone noticed that when a Bengal WR/TE runs a particular route, or routes, thats all they do. anywhere from 1 to 3 routes.
Its getting predictable based on down and distance. A.J Green is only WR that I seen this year that has incorporated most of the route tree. But the rest of the WR/TEs,they execute their 1 to 3 routes and thats that. Gresham is gonna run that hook route underneath on 3rd and 5. Well Dallas Clark made a living of selling the hook then freeze the OLB and arrow out toward the sideline. Binns and Tate run that quick slant. did anyone notice Josh Gordon running that deep post that cooked our safeties? I have to yet to see Binns or Tate run that. I realize that coverages dictate the routes you can run, but c'mon man, you have to vary and not be so predictable. I don't see stop and go's, sluggos etc etc. now secondaries are just sitting on the Bengals routes. |

HAHA now we are calling the route running predictable. Some of you guys crack me up we have played bad the last few weeks and we may be a bad team, but come on. Some of you guys are reaching trying to find the most obscure things to point out.

Receivers outside of Green don't really get open. Route running, speed, etc. It all factors in.

I understand route running is important, but predictable? Come on? It is like the cliche of predictable play calling everyone wants to go to. It's only predictable when it doesn't work, but when it does everyone claims it's amazing.

Actually, there are still solid route combinations. On the overthrow/drop wheel route to Gresham, Hawkins had a great pick in the middle of the field that set Gresh free.

That slant over the middle that Gresham scored on the Browns, how many times have you seen him run that this year?
I see Gresham run hook routes, drags, outs.. I never said Tate,Binns Gresham were great route runners even when they were winning,. Tate scored back in the 1st match up on a simple go route. But I'm not seeing Tate follow that up with a comeback route. but what Iam not seeing is these guys not running a route to set up another route another than A.J. when was the last time we saw Hawkins run that quick pop at the LOS behind a wall of blockers? disturbing trend in the way the defense is about to adjust to the Bengals route running by half time |

It is not the routes
In the three games we have lost, our offensive and defensive lines have been beaten by the Ravens, Dolphins and Browns. Honestly, teh advantage in the first Browns game may have been to the Browns. The O line is understandable a bit because we have three new guys and two rookies. The best O lines have played together for a while. On D, I really cannot tell if it is all on the D line our how much is on the linebackers. Rey is pretty mediocre at best, that is for sure. Do we ever blitz any more ? if so I am not seeing any results. We are losing up front, plain and simple -plus the rey issue |

It seems like this week and last week opposing CBs were jumping routes over and over. This could be accounted for suspect WR play, my theory. However it could also be from predictability we keep doing the same things and it is showing on tape. I think my theory holds water that Binns and Tate just don't have what it takes. I have seen almost nothing from them all season. Again AJ has a huge day with 135yds but our second leading receiver wasn't even a wr at all. It was Peerman... Binns and Tate nonexistent Binns 2-12 and Tate 1-11. Both guys didn't make plays for the ball and seemed to lack any spark. I can't stand watching them to much longer. It is like Caldwell and Simpson (without the flip)

I agree. It's not really predictable.

After halftime the D held the browns to two straight three and outs and on the two Cribbs kick returns we held them to filed goals. Those two drives started on the bengals 25 and 30. WTF esle do you want from the defense? We were still winning 14-13! |
