Default How 'bout them Bengals??

Nice to see them take a 3rd one in a row hard.

I thought I was watching a Skins game the way the crowd cheered every time the away team picked up a 1st down. On the plus side, bye week coming up so at least you get a week off before losing the next two to the Mannings.

Better to lose a close game against a rival than to get your *** stomped into smithereens by a team you thought was your equal.

You mean like week 1? Don't worry, we never considered the Bengals our equals.

I didn't want to spoil your logic but you realize you guys lost 13-44 in week 1, right?

Pretty tough loss tonight. When you win the turnover battle at home, you should win the ballgame, bottom line,so there's no excuses. Offensively,Pittsburgh went straight after our two big weaknesses on our defense,Rey Maualuga and Terence Newman. Antonio Brown owned Newman all night long, which I figured he would. Rey was particularly pathetic in the 4th quarter. He overruns his hole on the draw play the Steelers ran to keep their second to last drive going, trips over his own feet when he's coming in untouched on a blitz on Roethlisberger, then gets smoked deep by Miller to flip field position. Defensively,we once again did a very good job of taking our own best players out of the game. Pretty pathetic when you're down a TD with less than 6 minutes left, and you come out with two straight run plays. We were much too conservative, especially with the Steelers doubling Green all night long. We didn't even try to go deep off of play action even when we were effective runnng the ball the whole first half. No screen passes, nothing. Our whole offense was the Law Firm and 5 yard routes to Ryan Whalen.

i'd love to sit here for 2 or 3 pages and spell out to you that the scoreboard is not always indicative of the complexion of the game

but then i'd be arguing with a guy with '69' in his name. and i simply won't let that happen

I thought Whalen did an awsome job...few more times he could have been hit but got missed. Aj was shut down, thought Burfect and Geno played great....Dunlop was pretty quiet and Rey was our kryptonite. Andy giving it up inside the 30 with 2 mins on the clock didnt help and was ultimately the sword that killed up. Biggest problem was Marvin coaching......it ****** donkey nuts.

Personally,Sanu was far more impressive than Whalen. They got him going in the first half, then just forgot about him in the 2nd. He had three catches for 27 yards in the first half, and then didn't even see a ball thrown his way the entire second half. Dunlap was locked down because the Steelers gave Adams a ton of help on the right side. Andy's turnover was big,but we still went into the locker room tied and came out and took the lead back.

The thing that really killed us was Gruden's gameplan and playcalling. Troy Polamalu is out,so our gameplan is to run the ball? The Steelers conceded runs early trying to help their CB's,but in the second half, they tightened down with their S's becuase we would never take a shot deep to keep them honest.

I cant wait to go the Broncos game. Actually get to see Peyton play finally, and see a competent organization in action that is doing whatever it takes to win it all. I mean the Broncos won a playoff game last year, yet got rid of the winning qb of that game after they signed Peyton. Be nice to root for a franchise that cares about winning like they. Heck I may become a Broncos fan now!

This....so much this.

We could have run no-huddle and hit short routes, all day long.
A couple of deep balls would have afforded us a chance at running the ball, but oooohh no.
Oh well... good game played by the PAnsies.

The first drive was great, but you have to know that the Steelers aren't going to just let anybody cram the ball down their throats with the run game for 60 minutes. You have to make adjustments and stay a step ahead. What's terrible about it is that the Steelers had our best weapon in the passing game,AJ,doubled all game long. So what do we do? Keep going to our heavy package and take our 2nd best weapon in the passing game,Gresham, off the field. Everybody knows the Steelers' defensive weakness is their DB's and they struggle against a hurry up offense,so what do we do? Run the ball with a jumbo set and keep their LB's,the strength of their defense,on the field.

Seriously, a raven fan started this thread after losing by 30 points with their savior back.

Congrats to the Steelers, the score was not close to how bad we were dominated.

Insane, isn't it ?
I really wonder if Marvin isn't overriding Gruden, sometimes.

It's a guarantee that Gruden is working within the parameters that Marvin is setting for him. Still,we were so wide open the first four weeks of the season that the offense doesn't even look the same anymore.

I wasn't sure whether I should make fun of you for using "complexion" thinking it was the same thing as competitiveness or for trying to say subjective factors are better indicators than objective factors but then I realized you were an idiot.

Seems the Colts care about winning too. The Colts will clearly build themselves a winner before Mike Brown does.
They are 3-3...after everyone on this board predicted the Colts would be the worst team in the NFL .

Everyone on this board owes Cotsfan an heartfelt apology.
