Default NCAA Men's Basketball

The USA Today/Coaches Pre-season Top 25 is out. The top 3, in this order:

#1 Indiana
#2 Louisville
#3 Kentucky

I'm a Louisville fan living in Southern Indiana, on the river. This area is loaded with fans of all 3 of those schools. (I'm a Cardinal fan.) It's going to be rioting in the streets.

P.S. I think OSU is #4

If Pitino doesn't get it done with the team he has now, he never will. This is a wide open year for college basketball. There isn't any dominant teams this season.

I think the title is IU's to lose this year.

Can we put UC at number 5 just so I feel good.

Its going to be either, Kansas, Kentucky, UConn, UNC, or Duke winning it all. I can say this same sentence at this time of year every year. Its ALWAYS one of these teams. Every now and then, you'll have a Michigan State or Florida rise up.

Who would you put your money on this year?

Kansas, Kentucky, UConn, UNC, MSU, or Duke vs. the Field

Man dude. That's a way different kind of post I've ever seen from you. Of course, all of my dealings with you were back during the tournament when we went at it like pit bulls.

But I agree with your comment. Cards are deep, but they'll have 5 injured players by Thanksgiving. And to bury the hatchet, I have to say, Calipari will put a good team on the floor. Going to be a fun year. I just hope it can stay civil come March. And the poster below said it best, if Pitino can't do it this year, then IDK. They are loaded with talent.

Anyway, I just don't want to go through all the crap we did last year, no reason.

My first year really getting into college basketball. Die hard Oregon fan in football, and I started watching their basketball team last year and fell in love with them as well. Excited to watch Artis, exciting young PG.

I have never seen vcu right on the verge of being ranked on the initial poll...perhaps the conference move was better than many thought...will still miss our many rivalries but it is what it is...our U or R rivalry went up times 1000

Yes I am. Are you saying that because I think IU is the favorite to win it this year?

I think UK is talented enough to make a FF run but right now I can't see them winning it all. Now next years team has a shot at going undefeated if we land Wiggins or Randall

Noel is not the number 1 pick in the class. He's too raw. Hell, Will Cauley Stein is better than Noel right now. Did you watch the blue white game and see where our starting 5 was getting blown out by 3 walk-ons, Julius Mays and WCS?

Cal can coach so it's not a sure thing that they won't be in the championship but as it stands right now I think they are just a FF team.

Cody Zeller gave Davis his best challenge by far last year and Noel isn't half as good as Davis is.
Doron Lamb was the best percentage three point shooter in Kentucky's history and he's gone. So who replaces all the points he put up. We don't have a shooter. So, were a 2009/2010 WVU game away from getting bounced early in the NCAA tournament. Mays looked like he could shoot it in the Blue/White game but who knows what he will do in an actual game.

Well, throughout the season Kentucky convinced me that they weren't going to be beat. They were far and away better than everyone else. IU had the best chance of knocking UK off because of Zeller but once Kentucky got past them it was over. So, that's why I was hostile. This years team has a lot of questions marks. There is literally no experience on this team. Everyone is new to each other and though the players are talented, it has a lot of holes.

I wish we were playing IU this year so we could see how we match up... but Duke and Louisville will be good measuring stick games.

LOL. Your 'butt-hurt' gauge is off the charts right now.

And you don't know jack squat about college basketball.

Butthurt about what?

I don't see an assessment from you?

I think you're the one that said next years team won't go undefeated... since then we picked up a couple more recruits and Wiggins has reclassified. We get Wiggins or Randall and 2013 is over before it started.

You know where your butt-hurt was expressed.

Nothing is over before it's started dorkbrain. Cal's first team had the best talent in the nation and should have won the trophy but they didn't because talent alone doesn't win anything. Blahblahblah about a poor shooting night from the whole team against WV. You think that can't happen to the "undefeated" team next year?

This year's team has a chance to duplicate last year but there are too many unanswered questions as of now. Harrow is a huge question mark right now at PG. Poythress and Goodwin are going to have to lead this team every single night. Noel is the X factor. If he doesn't press and just allows his talent to develop, he will be special by the time March rolls around. Cauley-Stein should be a huge surprise. If Wiltjer can continue to hit shots in key situations, that will be huge.

The key to everything is how well Cal shows what kind of coach he is this year. He doesn't have anyone like Darius Miller this year and that could be a problem in crunch time unless one of the freshman can show some super nads. This year, more than any year before is going to come down to how Cal performs as a game day coach.

P.S. I was just messing around when i said you weren't a real fan because i knew you'd get all ****** and do what you did and i knew i'd get a good laugh out of it. Consider yourself "played".

Actually I have no idea what you're talking about.

2013 will be over be for it starts if Randall commits or if both Randall and Wiggins commit. Kentucky will go 40-0 if Randall commits. No one in the country will be able to hang.

I may be wrong but I think this years team loses more than 2 games. Potential loses could be to Duke, Louisville, at Florida, in the SEC tournament and maybe get knocked off in the NCAA. It doesn't have a chance to lose only 2 games... to win a championship yeah, but not to match the record as last years team. It will lose more than two games. Probably four.

I'm not worried about Harrow at all. He's more talented than Knight or Teague. Julius Mays will be the key this year. He will help this team tremendously. This team isn't missing Darius Miller. It's going to miss the most underrated wildcat ever though, Doron Lamb. Poor kid was the most essential part of the final four run two years ago and the championship last year and he is over looked most of the time.

WCS will be what everyone expects Noel to be.

This will be the last time I converse with you. You will be ignored from here on out.

Who cares how many they win or lose during the year? The only thing that matters is winning the last game of the year. Doron Lamb was not underrated by anyone with a brain (explains a lot) and if you think Darius Miller wasn't the heart of that team, you are even more of a dip shizzle than i previously thought.

It's true. You don't know jack squat about college basketball and you know even less about your so called "home team".

Silly bandwaggoners.
