They were both arrested for possession of Marijuana, so I don't see how "ridiculous" the comparison is. i guess one could argue J.Jo's was worse because he was more mature and should have made wiser decisions than riding dirty.

If hes Drafted it will be as a return man.

With more and more 6'4" 220lb WRs on the Field
And more teams using a TE passing attack

Tiny Corners are becoming less valuable.

Unless you're a kid, you father went to prison for murder when you were 2, and that's the only culture you have ever been exposed to.

So he should just get a pass? And when he is a pro? He gets a pass too?
No. Sometimes you have to show personal responsibility and act like a ****ing adult.
He has shown ZERO capability of doing that. He is gonna act like a moron and thug let him do it somewhere else.

I think he is comparable to Jimmy Smith, the Ravens first rounder a couple years ago, in the jackassery department. Smith was still playing football and had prototype size as a CB so he went in the 1st. With Mathieu's stature I don't think many teams are going to be willing to take a big risk on a guy who has a small shot of becoming a quality NFL CB.

I'm not sure Mathieu's decision making will be any better once you hand him hundreds of thousands of dollars.

Who was the idiot NFL player running a massive drug ring recently? I could see Mathieu getting into something of that nature.

Sam Hurd and the crazy thing is he received the Ed Block Courage Award in 2010; an award given to players as role models of inspiration, sportsmanship, and courage.

Tyran Matheiu was arrested today for, take a guess........

Marijuana possession.

I think its pretty inevitable that he will enter the draft now. LSU will not let him back on the team. And I doubt many other schools will give him a chance.

I forsee him entering the draft. He might be the "Vontaze Burfict" of this coming draft. He was regarded as one of the better CBs last year and now has slipped big time because of his off the field issues!

He may only be 5'9" but he was a big player on that LSU defense and he has great return skills. He is a game-changer on defense and may warrant a draft pick.

Does he get drafted, or will he go undrafted?
I forsee him going to a division II program for his senior season like Janoris Jenkins.

Patterns are the difference. JJ has not shown a habitual pattern as Mathieu has. Not only did Mathieu decide to continue his behavior but he decided it would be a good idea to bring some more of the team with him as well this time.

Very weak point. Way too many people make it out of that environment on their own to use that as an excuse. He did not even have to do it on his own. Athletics gave him a free ride out of the environment. Product of environment is many times a very poor debate point.

I do not care what your environment it right is right and wrong is wrong. Those committing crimes know they are crimes. It is about work ethic and decision making.

So has Janoris, Jenkins and Dennard have impressed so far. Those 3 and Claiborne have been the class of the rookie CB's so far.

Where does a small player with no clear position and a ton of potential go in a draft after they have tanked their college career. This is tough one. 6th round as a DB, 3rd as a returner, undrafted due to multiple off field issues... I would feel ok with a 5th and try to figure out his position as we went.

There's really not that many that make it out as you think. Its a very small percentage. The ones that get out normally are just very lucky or they just happened to make the right decision by accident. And by accident I mean they make a decision for the wrong reason but it ends up helping them immensely. Like me for example, I got out because my father gave me an ultimatum to either find a real job or join the military straight out of high school. I couldn't find a job so.... It turned out to be the best decision of my life and I wouldn't have made it myself, and probably would be in a much worse situation based on the environment and people around me. 2 of my friends ended up in jail and everyone I know has kids and are working total crap jobs and living with family members. With all that said, I'm actually very intelligent, I was a nuclear machinist mate in the navy, have an IQ of over 130, and am very good at solving about any problem in front of me, but I would have probably ended up in jail, dead, or addicted to something.

Basically what I am trying to say is you can't just say its easy to leave those situations or that people do it all the time. Sometimes you don't realize you need to leave that life behind until its too late. And even harder to leave the people that are bad influences behind because they are normally the ones that have been with you your whole life and looked out for you and maybe even saved your life one way or another. Life there is not like life elsewhere, only someone from a situation like that truly understands.

I'm going with CFA at this point but as long as he stays clean and has a good combine, like you stated he should a 5th or 6th. He started out ok since the arrest. He has quietly been doing charity work. He was living with Patrick Peterson's family for a bit who I think got him with a lawyer at Galaxy Sports. He's been keeping a low profile and training for the last month, I heard.
